Our county basically polled businesses on whether or not they would accept limited reopening if it meant they had to mandate customers wear masks.

Businesses of course wanted to reopen.

So the county claimed that masking was not based on any science but was being done because the businesses requested it before they would reopen.

Of course they enforced this thing the businesses "asked" for with massive fines and threatening to shut down those businesses if they didn't enforce masking on their own customers.

It's all just a huge web of "county said, business said, province said, federal said" and absolutely no one actually takes direct responsibility for it. But their all proud to be enforcing what the other person in the chain told them to enforce.

Then of course the other branch of government is full of propaganda puff pieces about "how great it is that EVERYONE is going along with the masking without any issues whatsoever!" While weekly protests never saw a single word in print.
