There's lot's of information in the petition page and the whole thing can't be fit on a single post here. All of it is sourced. Some key highlights worthy of note:
- Two of Tencent's most heavily invested gaming companies, Riot Games and Epic Games, have each been caught harvesting massive amounts of user data, each by a similar method to one another.
- Tencent has dozens of massive overseas datacenters, including some in the U.S.
- Sony has been assisting China for years to try and help them become a major gaming influence through an initiative known as the "China Hero Project".
- Sony's other pozzed divisions bleeding into the PlayStation division is largely due in part to a "One Sony" policy.
- Tencent is involved with Sony's music label through a joint partnership, "Liquid State", and because of "One Sony", has a vector through which they can affect the other branches.
- Sony admitted in their latest annual corporate report that they harvest and analyze lots of Playstation user data, which Tencent could potentially have access to.
- Reddit took an investment from Tencent in early 2019, and the censorship has only gotten much worse ever since. (Most of you should already know this, but it's still important.)
- CFIUS has both the authority and most likely the legal grounds to force Tencent to sell off its investments in tech and media companies. That includes no just American companies but also any foreign companies that do business in the U.S., such as Sony.
- The executive order against Huawei's equipment can also be applied to the PS5, given the information explained in the petition.
