As someone who followed gg at the beginning but not too closely (although I am very much for what it’s message is ) I wasn’t aware that there were ever 2 KiA. Could someone give me the cliffs notes version of what happened?
I did notice that KiA had a “whitelist” and a “blacklist” on topics to be discussed which put me off a bit.
KiA had a vote like 2 years ago regarding restricting posting rules. What sort of posts would be allowed, did they have to be on topic, would a self post be fine, etc. The community overwhelmingly voted for the most permissive option where self posts were fine as long as it didn’t break other rules and link posts were fine as long as you could make a connection to a core topic and we’ll as some other things. We wanted to be able to discuss stuff like BLM doing idiotic and criminal stuff, msm news being morally bankrupt, stuff that didn’t have any direct connection to gaming.
Fast forward six months to a year later. The mods decide to change the posting rules to what they wanted and ignore the community vote. Having their vote that was clearly against this invalidated didn’t sit well with us and the mods being massive dicks while discussing this and never holding each other accountable despite clear and repeated violations of rule 1 (don’t be a dick). We tried to work with them, but KiA’s mods didn’t want to have their decisions and power questioned. So we made our own KiA with blackjack and hookers.
Yeah, the whole “blacklist” including BLM (ironically no pun intended I guess!) was a big put off for me.
