There are kids that always try to press buttons and get reactions (which is exactly what this seems to be), but it's on the teachers/authority figures to maintain a calm and professional atmosphere. The question from me is, is the teacher more upset about it because of the idea of potentially not supporting gay stuff, or was it simply finally being fed up with a problem student after trying to do something "nice"?
Ultimately can't fault the school for letting her go, though.
