This doesn't seem to be happening everywhere, just certain markets. Where I want to move to in ND has houses listed for months at a time, and prices are rising pretty slowly, if at all.
The house I own right now has seen its value rise pretty significantly in the last year, though, so this is good for me, more money for me when I sell it.
My back of the envelope numbers tell me I can buy two houses where I want to move to with the equity I have built up in my present house.
I suspect this is all because its North Dakota. No one wants to move there.

Is North Dakota nice? I'm looking to leave the big city.
