For the record, this change does apply to the Japanese version as well. This isn't just localization fuckery, this is a core change by Sega and the team working on the game (though the old PSO2 NA version does contain localized censorship).

Warned about this two months ago.

This shit was also in Monster Hunter Rise at launch for both versions, with the typical defenders popping up.
