This is annoyingly sensationalist. They did not openly refer to it as "transgender" at all - what they did was extremely subtle and tasteful and in complete alignment with what has been shown in the game and outside of it. Chronormu (Chromie) has always been a male dragon that has taken the form of a female gnome. Even if it was a mistake initially, it was still always a male dragon in a female gnome's form. No fucking shit he felt more comfortable, that's why he picked a female body in the first place.
They did not "reveal" anything, they just continued playing into the exact same thing that they've been playing into since Classic.
I completely understand the hatred that arises when trans people are used as a weapon to beat you with, but this autistic screeching about absolutely nothing is embarrassing. I could not care less if you dislike trans people, that's fine, I get it. But just don't be fucking factually wrong.
There are 2 potentially trans characters in the entire game - and neither of them is rubbed into your face at all. Also, you guys often say "it's a world with magic, if they're trans, why don't they just change their body?" - and they literally did that, which makes perfect sense. There's no bullshit about "oppression", there's no leftist bullshit. When you intentionally go into options where you choose to learn about the characters with no reward or benefit, the character just tells you "I chose a male body when I died and went into the afterlife".
As for Chromie, the character mentioned, it's a minor line a book that nobody is going to buy anyway.
Works of art do not float in the Ether. Blizzard is very much promoting the idea that if you feel the opposite sex, you belong in the opposite sex, and it is right and proper for you to be seen as one and everyone around you should treat you the way you feel like, disregarding reality. We're here to tell them that is not the case.
If you think this isn't the message Blizzard is promoting, go ahead and go against it in game / on the official Blizzard forums, and best of luck with that.
Lastly, if fiction universe is detached from reality and in magical La-La land you can spawn whichever body you feel like having, then both of Blizzard's 'trans' characters wouldn't be trans, they'd be the opposite sex than they're portrayed as. Not their body being different, but the characters themselves. Instead Blizzard makes a point out of it in both characters' stories.
Which, y'know, is why nobody in the game or in Blizzard is calling them trans. You're letting idiot journos control your mind.
Also, your perspective is that of denying that trans people exist, which is fine, but I don't think it makes sense. I support therapy being researched so an alternative to transition is found, but as it is, only transition actually works.
Even Blizzard has sense enough to avoid mentioning the word trans in game when not necessary. Suffice to describe trans characters and omit the language.
I'm not denying anyone's existence. People are free to feel as whatever they like. And I'm free to reject their feelings. Just because a person feels a certain sex does not mean I'm obligated to play along. Feelings do not make reality. The notion that feeling something makes one so is ridiculous. The notion that people should be coerced to partake in the pretense is beyond monstrous.
Transition works? How so? Does it lower suicide rates? Has there been long term studies showing it improves happiness and quality of life? It doesn't actually change the person's sex. FtM often pass, though from what I read they're generally unhappy. MtF rarely pass, and even that is mostly time limited to the earlier years. Putting children on puberty blockers is child abuse.
From what I've seen the main thing the trans movement has been successful at is generating a lot of noise and using a lot of strong arming to try to force 'acceptance'. The media being extremely far left has helped them a great deal in this.
Many self described trans people have been let down by society, which has pushed them in this direction and encouraged them as being heroic and virtuous. When the dust has settled and their promoters have moved on, the individuals will have to pick up the pieces of their lives. Sadly many of them will find that they do not fit together again.

Yes. That's quite literally the point, and why it happens. Studies are worthless, there are no legitimate ways to ascertain the truth in our world. The only science I even consider trusting is science coming from my (based) country.
