These developers know people will review it before finishing it. It's pozzed as fuck anyway. Don't fall for the hype train and the FOMO. Wait a while for these longer games. Always check negative reviews.
Larian already did that where they "patched out" the "bug" that made party members super horny and come onto you within the first hour of playtime. Because that's totally what it was, a bug. It was absolutely NOT a feature and the game was obviously NOT designed that way to appeal to the Reddit faggots that represented the majority of people who played the early access (or at least were the only ones permitted to give feedback).
Unfortunately, Gale and Astarion are still in the game, as is the drag queen, the bear scene, the horny Mind Flayer, the ogre and bugbear...I swear, this game sounds more depraved than a hentai visual novel.
Yeah, there's a Mind Flayer called the Emperor that you can romance and have sex with. Even though Mind Flayers don't have a reproductive system that is in-line with vertebrates, and thus don't have a sex drive, and thus wouldn't seek out any kind of sexual experience. Never mind how different their thought processes are from everyone else's; companionship and romance would be incomprehensibly alien concepts to them, especially towards beings they view as food. But it's what sexually-obsessed (and frustrated) Redditors want, so of course Larian put it in.
I managed to go through the whole game without fucking any animals. And the only gay scene I noticed was the Ogres played for laughs. And that's kind of, if not especially funny. In any case, I'm not opposed to buggery jokes. I'm sure there's more in the stories, if you read all the notes, but I don't.
So... I think people have been going through the "romance" content on YouTube. Why? This is like going to Bing Image Search, turning off safe search, searching for this shit and being like: Mom I saw porn.
The bear/gay vampire scene was used as a hype trailer prior to the game's release and was specifically chosen to be shown to a mass audience of women in an auditorium who clapped like seals for it.
So, regardless of how you were able to miss it, it was very important to the Devs themselves and the audience they intended to court with it.
In fact, until the game was released and "suddenly and organically" it was the best game ever made, that's literally what it was known for. Because that was the information they specifically choose to represent their game in marketing.
Baldurs gate suffered from only having act 1 in early access, everything after act 1 felt bland, the entire second act had some decent concepts that were terribly executed and act 3 wasn’t even worth playing through. The game is unfixable, no matter what they do to it, it won’t make what should be the biggest act (3) not be a colossal let down.
Haven't played it, haven't followed news, played the crap out of BG1 / BG2.
When you say Act 2 is not terribly well executed, do you mean plot? Side quests? Amount of content? That is, the mechanics of the game should be pretty consistent between acts right? So what tailed off so dramatically after Act 1?
It’s been a minute since I did the play through, but act 2 was essentially a blighted zone that was written like a modern wow expansion, everything was bland aside from the combat shift, they wasn’t any real character progression, the only bonus was fighting eldritch horrors. The zone could have been immensely more appealing if it didn’t suffer from just god awful writing and a complete lack of feeling any achievement from progressing through the zone.
Typical Larian Studios 3ed act problem. Dragon Commander, D:OS and D:OS2 all fall apart in the third act. It was so bad I could not even finish D:OS and had to force myself through the last part of D:OS2.
Act 2 felt fine but Act 1 is just insanely good overall, tons of extra things you can do etc. Act 2 it's less so but still somewhat open.
Act 3 is a travisty, you feel how it's lacking something. The only saving grave was imho the house of hope, was a cool area but even there I wish there were more choices.
Idk, the zone itself was the highlight of act 2, you lose all the polish that act 1 had plus the writing and dialogue took a sharp nosedive in act 2, at least in my opinion. Act 2 probably disappointed me more because it had more potential for lore and story than act 1 but felt bland.
I had no idea there was an "endings problem", because I never gave a shit about this cash grab. Throne of Bhaal is the end of Baldur's Gate, everything afterwards using the brand name is skin dancing.
As soon as they added the funny tag with YouTubers then attempting to find the funniest ones it just turned into the usual cesspit like so many other sites.
I've also argued about BG3 being a bad game around launch, most people burnt out or moved onto the next thing before they hit act 3. It's a baldurs gate game in only name, it's just a skinsuit of a legendary series.
Honestly the ending was the least of the narrative problems I had with the game. The constant "yes but the plot needs to move this way so I'm just gonna ignore your repeated NOs" was way more annoying
That and the amount of black and white choices, missing dialogue choices and other blatant dual morality was annoying. No idea if it was cause of the voice acting limiting choices but the game had very little nuance at times
BG3s role-playing resembles an upside-down funnel with a wider than average spout.
Act 1 is almost fully open ended do whatever have fun kid
Act 2 there is exactly one path through no matter what. You will always fight the guy and his undead Patton Oswalt sidekick
Act 3 is slightly more open but all endings are essentially the same unless you're a paragon of heroism. Then you get a party and, like, an actual ending
TLDR: my evil playthrough nearly killed the appeal of the game from a role playing perspective
They were going to do DLC, but they changed their mind. I doubt they're working on it any more at all.
Wide distribution of half-done games is a cancer. That's not the same as beta testing which is done with complete versions of the game that may be riddled with bugs For one thing, beta testing ruins it for a small number of people, many of whom are your dedicated fans and like it anyways. You don't make them pay (for the beta at least).
Widespread release of BG3 had most players playing a crappy version of act 1. To the point where it's hard to understand some repeated criticisms as they've been edited out of the game. Peopel are angry about stuff that a non-tester doesn't even have any context on.
Why we have to kickstart this no name developer of DoS2? (who has taken up with fucking Hasbro and fucking Wizards of the Coast, no less).. Y no fund own game.
These developers know people will review it before finishing it. It's pozzed as fuck anyway. Don't fall for the hype train and the FOMO. Wait a while for these longer games. Always check negative reviews.
does it acknowledge its faggotry problem?

It does bring up the man or bear question in a new light.

I don't know who I'm defending here. Not Larian. Maybe the right to just experience a game and not thirst over every trailer or EA.
Isn't the initial goal of every playthrough to abort a mindflayer embryo that was implanted into your brain?
You heard him
I wish I didn't. Fuggin hell
LOL, I blew a couple of minds in one post. Maybe I'm the real Mind Flayer!
Username checks out

Not surprising that BG3 has the same problem.
Shockingly the people who brought you DoS2 made a game with inconsistent chapters.

But I kill Rejiek in every playthrough...
Maybe they'd have finished the game if they spent less time animating the main character fucking every npc.
But that is clearly what the female fans want
Female gamers don't want RPGs, they want fucking dating simulators.
More reason to stick to THAC0, gatekeep them with math.
Brings new meaning to THAC0 deez nutz.
But big booba/scantily clad female protagonists are bad.
As soon as they added the funny tag with YouTubers then attempting to find the funniest ones it just turned into the usual cesspit like so many other sites.

Does it acknowledge that the game shouldn't exist to begin with or that it needs to remove the name "Baldur's Gate" from the title?

It takes a very long time to get to the end game, and I was not really satisfied by the end game.
First of all, the limit to level 12, second of all the lack of difficulty especially when you reach level 12.
This is why you wait until a game is $10 on steam.
I've played the game for free thanks to a friend. I had to drop it because:
The worst part is that I didn't even get to see any of the horny that was promoted so much.
Your third point is funny to me because there were many times I completely forgot there was a narrator at all
Iirc someone made a male voice mod for the narrator. Dunno if it's up do date but it honestly gives the game a much better vibe.
I’m surprised so many people here played a game advertised with gay bear sex. It doesn’t get more disgusting than that.
The same reason people hate watch shows like Velma. They just can't help themselves.
Someone watched Velma?
They were going to do DLC, but they changed their mind. I doubt they're working on it any more at all.
