Gotta’ love that instant Karma.

If they can make the Yuuzhan Vong not REALLY evil, but misunderstood and some kind of a refugee allegory, they’ll do it. In fact, we should encourage them to do it.

Why would this be a problem? The bullshit about the bank loan was much more a "don't do business here unless everyone involved is of the correct political views" than this recent news.

"Choice" was an especially frustrating one after Covid. Decades of "my body, my choice" which seemed a universal truth (save for those people who lack a body, I suppose ... ghosts?) which suddenly turned into a feminist-exclusive slogan. Anybody who claimed "my body, my choice" to deny the jab was called a misogynist or a fool for invoking a slogan which had suddenly became something which only applied to a woman's right to abortion and could not be transferred to any other cause.

I don't mean to quibble (no, I do) but I'm pretty sure it's "worst Memorial Day opening weekend in 3 decade*" because in 2020 the theaters were closed. Looking up Box Office Mojo, grosses were around $2 million. https://www.boxofficemojo.com/holiday/us_memorialday_weekend/2020/ I bring this up because I noticed that in Doomcock's video he makes the mistake of reading between the lines and insists that this 3 decades figure is including 2020, which I'm pretty sure it isn't. Just more shit reporting from "journalists."

Remember how awkward it would be to run into your teacher at the mall or something? We’ve gone from “oh yeah, you’re a person outside of school” to “Mx Miller wants us to watch a livestream of xthem engaging in coprophilia with xtheir polycule for homework.”

It’s funny how that never occurred to this person. Maybe they shouldn’t have opened that door in the first place.

I’m a Virgo came out on Amazon last year. It’s also about super powers and wears its messaging on its sleeve(except blacks instead of women.) However, that show gets by because it is weird, aggressively so.

This show came out over a year ago. It clearly went VERY unnoticed. Deservedly so.

It was always the logical progression after gay rights. Liberals have no end point, they just want to move on to embracing whatever’s ostracized.

It’s sarcasm. Although “more people are watching on iPlayer” IS the go-to defense. I know Disney+ doesn’t release watch numbers. Does BBC do this with iPlayer?

simian 7 points ago +7 / -0

That's only on regular television, however. There were literally billions who watched it on iPlayer.

It’s like how everyone said that all the media companies would pull their content from places like Netflix and Hulu so they could create their own streaming services, and they’d all lose money doing so. And then they all did exactly that and are struggling to turn a profit. Modern society is all about ignoring the warning signs.

I’ve heard of this book and it sounded so weird I assumed someone was shitting me and it wasn’t real.

I didn’t really have any expectations. Mostly about food regulations and culture changing to allow for the abundance of high fructose corn syrup and ever-increasing portions. Then it gets into a lot of detail about what Type 2 diabetes is.

I'm going to assume this is a con, and they've got money in ShotSpotter. What a boon it'll be to the company when cities pay them to install the devices in neighborhoods where shootings DON'T happen, just to dispel the illusion of racism.
