Let the AAA studios die, they deserve it and I have always maintained that you don't need a massive budget to make decent quality games anymore anyway.
This. Can't even think of any remotely new AAA game I put any substantial time into over the last couple years. Maybe Age of Wonders 4, if that had a high enough budget to count as AAA, though I doubt it? But, I've been going through a Divinity: Original Sin 2 run with some friends where we're well north of a hundred hours at this point, spent a good amount of time in Palword, Death must Die and Against the Storm. And I've got a huge backlog to get through.
So let the AAA studios crash and burn. They're just obsolete at this point.
They can all die, From Soft included, every major studio, every single IP. Destroy them all, let no major studio survive. Only independent devs can survive such a collapse because they have no investment and no overhead. That can pick up and go at any time, anywhere. I don't care how many of your favourite games and good studios die. Only the nuclear solution remains. Innocent and guilty alike must be destroyed. I just wish gamers weren't such fucking pussies and cling to their triple A games and spout bullshit like "except this game or this studio" no, all or nothing. Stop being weak.
I agree because I've had downvotes for shitting on Nintendo for their behaviour LOL and I do think they're slowly going woke, the ESG and DEI rot is real. People don't like that their childhood memories are being corrupted this way and I don't blame them for that but this is why new indie variants should be made of the same thing, with blackjack and hookers.
I have no problem with a AAA crash. The only reason I don't want the "innocent" to be caught in it is because it would allow TPTB to shift the blame for why it happened. It would be just like how Disney is blaming "superhero fatigue" for Marvel's problems rather than the true cause.
If they can shift the blame, nobody will learn from it, and we will be doomed to go through this all again sooner than later. I want everyone to know exactly why it happened, with no excuses.
