“They say they’re trying to restore what us old guys ruined,” said the Rev. John Forliti, 87, a retired Twin Cities priest who fought for civil rights and reforms in Catholic school sex education.
Doug Koesel, an outspoken 72-year-old priest at Blessed Trinity Parish in Cleveland, was blunter: “They’re just waiting for us to die.”
Is this by any chance in relation to incidents like one I saw awhile back pop up online about a priest who broke the confessional in order to tell a woman's husband/boyfriend she cheated on him? When you think about it, it makes perfect sense that liberals would want to shut that down or really kind of cheater/dishonest person who's trying to cover up what they did.
I don't think they are related. And a priest shouldn't break the confessional covenant. I think most liberals reject the notion of responsibility. They think it's mean. But the idea is to accept your sins, atone for them and move on. Leftist think that feeling of shame is bad and hurtful but it's not. It's there to guide you to be better.
(before the local archbishop closed the place down*) The queue's at my old local traditional latin church were long, they were round the block and done all day. My local liberal one is by appointment only.
The trads do generally treat the sacraments with far more respect and won't dare take Holy Communion in a state of mortal sin, with massive queues before mass. Rightly so.
The kids are all right.
Yeah, kind of a white pill. I know theres has been a lot of talk of the modern youth being more conservative, and this might be more proof of that.
There is no such thing as a liberal Catholic. To be politically left is to flout the Catechism almost completely.
There's only heretics and apostates who are kidding themselves.
I would tend to agree. What Catholic is bothered by the priest talking about confession?
A posturing fraud.
