And so it's just that it was so novel, he's never seen that done, and he doesn't like it when it's different from what he's used to.

People obviously aren't complaining just because it's novel. Practically every large building is unique. Stop being retarded.

If you go on a Disney cruise ship and pay $20,000 a week for a fancy stateroom, it uses an artificial window instead of a real one.

He probably had to have a team of researchers to come up with this ridiculous one example. First: that room probably sucks and would not be good to live in for four years. Cruises are short. Second: you don't spend your time on cruises in your bedroom doing work, you spend it out of your room basically every waking moment, often not even on the ship. This comparison is trash.

When you look at them, the way they're curtained and so forth, you can't tell if they're artificial by looking at them, and they admit the exact spectrum of real sunlight.

Behind enough curtains, you can't actually tell the difference between an apple and a cat, but apples aren't cats.

You can turn a knob and change the sunlight to brighten it up or down. So if you're a romantic, you can tamp it down. If you want more bright light and so forth, you can turn the sunlight up just by twisting a knob. In many respects, these things are actually better than real windows.

"Romantic" students apparently have never heard of curtains on windows in real life.

Obviously, it would be better if every student could have a penthouse with perfect views in all four directions. But we don't do that because we can't get enough students to live conveniently close together.

"Penthouse": False dichotomy, retard. The choice isn't a 30,000 square foot penthouse or a shoebox with no windows. Literally every student housing not designed by you manages to find a better middle ground. And what's with "conveniently close"? Exactly at what time does a student say, "Well, if only there were 200 people living within 100 feet, that would somehow make my life better than if there were 100"? How many strangers live within 100 feet of this retard's bed?

This building has been criticized by McFadden in his resignation letter as a "social and psychological experiment with an unknown impact in the lives and personal developments" of these young people.

Well, he's just pulling that out of the air. Buildings actually exist with no windows at all in Michigan and people are living in them fine.

LOL, "Buildings actually exist"... yeah, other buildings you built, asshole. Don't leave that out, that you're the only person psychotic enough to do this, and act like it's an independent confirmation that you're sane.

The Munger Graduate Residence Hall in Michigan has no windows. It works fine. But once you put the artificial window in, it's a huge improvement.

So the last time you fucked up, but this time you're changing one variable and now it will totally be fine. That is the actual definition of what an "experiment" is, retard. Remember the thing you denied one line ago?

What the students hate most of all — as I know; we had eight children — what they really hate is sharing a bedroom with an unrelated stranger.

How many of your children didn't have a window? Do you think maybe the fact they weren't complaining about not having windows is because they actually had windows?

every single student gets his own private sleeping area. That's unheard of in undergraduate

Actually that's extremely normal for schools not located in overpriced shitholes almost nobody can afford to actually live in.

This windowless thing is just a bunch of crazy suppositions by an ignorant man.

You're not an architect, though, are you?

Well, no, but I've been building buildings all my life, and I've hired a lot of the very eminent architects for over 70 years.

No comment necessary.

The best buildings, in my opinion, are always created when an intelligent owner is working with an intelligent architect. And that's what's happened here. This is not just my design. This is a design with a lot of inputs from others.

I guarantee the "no windows" thing was 100% him, not any of the actual architects involved, and he made it clear to everyone else that if they had a problem with it they'd be fired.

It was your idea to have the rooms with these fake windows, right?

Yes, absolutely.

I can predict the future!

I think they're mad because it's still not quite entirely illegal or career suicide to express displeasure with the left in any way.

It's easier to blame others for your failures than to blame yourself.

And far more politically effective.

I identify as whatever sexuality gets men to buy me stuff without having to actually touch them in return.

There's a few differences- the governor of NY was replaced by another dem, so no huge loss there for them to push him out. Who would Fauci be replaced by? Second, the left has basically deified the man, and going back on that is politically expensive, though in this increasingly 'we've always been at war with Eastasia' world, maybe it's not that big a deal. Third, Cuomo's issue was with women, and women have more power and are more used to using it politically than dog lovers. NOW vs. PETA is no contest. My prediction is it receives extremely limited press coverage because it's not "on message", and even if you can get a significant number of dems to say it's wrong, they'll just say Fauci wasn't really involved, and any documents saying otherwise won't appear soon, if ever. Unless you can get a video of Fauci personally strangling a dog, he won't be touched.

Surely capitalism is about profiting by efficiently satisfying demand, and if part of the demand is for a product that's aesthetically pleasing, then yeah, you make it look good.

Or break it down by age and gender, and watch those risk numbers go up a ton for younger boys, who account for almost all the cases of myocarditis, and the benefit drop for younger children as well.

And I wonder how many hospital admissions would be prevented by not spending the last year and a half telling parents that the wuhan virus is so dangerous it's worth shutting down society over. "Defunding the BBC: Cut hospital admissions for covid by 90%"

The other difference is that men already have no legal reproductive rights, and have never had any reproductive rights. If you get a woman pregnant, she has total control of what happens next, but men sure as hell have legal responsibilities in the form of child support, which is commonly enforced even when the man cannot pay, resulting in prison time.

You'd think at some point thinking through "Hey, what would be the equivalent of men being unable to terminate a pregnancy?" they'd realize they already can't, and would avoid drawing attention to it, but I guess not.

I suspect once reality catches up to them, they either detransition or kill themselves if that’s no longer possible.

Definitely a lot of the first. I think they try to keep it quiet because their entire premise of "I'm a woman's brain in a man's body, this isn't a mental disorder" is proven false every time it happens, but it happens a ton.

Stating that women should have rights that men don't isn't exactly getting more 'problematic' with time, they just wanted to put a fig leaf over it so they could pretend it's about "gender equality" for the tweet.

“So, women, 18 to 118, when it is time to vote, please do so in your own self interest. It’s what men have been doing for years.”

Men literally have no legal rights after conception, but they sure as hell have responsibilities, and the penalties for not being able to pay child support are hugely more severe than any other kind of debt. If abortion were outlawed entirely, men's legal rights wouldn't change one bit.

Men, as a whole, LOVE voting to give women things, just like they willingly give up about half their waking life to support their wives and family, or willingly run into burning buildings or take up arms against dangerous enemies to protect their women and their family. Men have been giving up their lives to protect women since men existed. I dream that some day men will act in their own interests politically the way that feminists think they always have been, but the fact is it runs too counter to millions of years of evolution to ever actually happen that way. This society is run for the benefit of women, and pretty much all women, and most men, like it that way.

As with almost any modern day standards to determine whether sexism/racism is taking place, it will be entirely inconsistent and based on the idea that women can never be sexist but men definitely are if a woman feels it to be the case, which is a position so thoroughly baked into the mindset of the left and, frankly, much of the right, that the idea that they're being hypocrites or might have to walk this back to maintain the illusion of gender-blind rule of law won't even occur to them.

It is funny that three of them basically come down to "Nobody likes me" and they're treating it as if it's the fault of the app.

"Nobody will fuck me" as a man: You're an incel, and incels are pretty much misogynistic terrorists, you are a threat to society that must be stopped.

"Nobody will fuck me" as a troon: We must change and redefine the fundamental ways that society perceives and communicates about people and sexuality to fix this disgusting bigotry.

Just scream "I hate men!"

Don't worry, their appearance says it for them.

arglide 6 points ago +6 / -0

I highly doubt that would even be true. Women accrue more debt, definitely, and they do it in fields that earn way less money, and then they don't even stay in the work force for long, but... what they do to make up for all that is marry a man. Who then pays her debt for her, because all the decisions he made in life were made with the knowledge that he'd actually be expected to pay for himself, not just marry someone who could. So when you look at who actually PAYS the debt, it's men.

But on the other hand, none of that would actually stop that headline from being written.

do it because you just got married

The Atlantic is accidentally going partial impossible1. If the problem with owning a gun is that it makes you the owner less safe, and getting married is a catalyst for that, then they're kind of admitting that women shoot their spouses with their own gun a significant amount and that you should be worried about that.

Which is why they really, really want there to be controversy. I would expect they've already started threads on anonymous message boards calling themselves faggots to drive controversy, to drive sales.

There's a big difference between demanding people undergo an unwanted medical procedure, and not allowing one, even leaving aside the other differences.

In any case, abortion could be made illegal everywhere at any time, and all that would mean is that women's right to an abortion would be reduced to the level men have been at since forever. People get outraged at women being told "If you don't want a kid, don't get pregnant", but that's the only legal option men have ever had.

The degree to which these freaks are just obsessed with making their fringe sexualities the absolute core of their identity is pretty pathetic. There were a few people who would put playboy decals on their cars in the 80s, and I'm pretty sure prevailing opinion was that they were embarassments, but these people don't just have the decals, they have parades full of sex fetish gear, flags on their mailboxes and city halls, icons on their twitter handles, fucking tattoos, entire months dedicated to how great it is who they like to fuck. Seriously, just imagine your city hall flying the playboy bunny flag because they're so proud of you for being straight. That's basically what gays have been doing for years. It's time to push gays back into the closet, and keep who they like to fuck to themselves, like the rest of the civilized world does. The world should not be obligated to celebrate who you like to put your penis into, and if that's the most interesting thing about you to the point that you wear a flag declaring it, you're a waste of space.

“On the other hand, it’s not particularly good for kids to play as much as even my own children play. And I do think it would be a lot easier to turn it off if it wasn’t just arguing with Mommy, but actually saying ‘Well, the police said so.’”

So because you're too weak to parent your own children, you want the state to parent them for you, and everyone else's kids in the nation as well. People like this idiot shouldn't reproduce. Or vote.

Having a dream that whites and blacks will be judged by the content of their character and not the color of their skin is basically a right wing extremist position these days. I'm surprised they aren't quietly pushing MLK under the rug at this point.

The legal penalty for knowingly having unprotected sex while you have AIDS without telling your partner is the same as the legal penalty for not wearing a mask in at least some states, at $1000.

Yeah, because on one hand, it's a one-way siphoning of money from men to women, so they like it, but on the other hand, it's about male sexuality, and male sexuality=rape, so they hate it.

This is why you see things like making it legal to be a prostitute, but illegal to hire a prostitute. Women must be allowed to do whatever they want without consequences and with as many resources extracted from men as possible, but also, men must be punished and prevented from daring to gaze upon women because they're all rapist scum. Viewing it through this lens helps make sense of alimony (aren't women too strong and independent to need support from a man?), and child support and abortion too (abortion: Women get to control when they have children which is a fundamental human right, yet child support: Men do NOT get to control when they have children, and owe women practically endless money under by far the strictest penalties for failure to pay of any kind of debt).
