Just tried watching this and had to give up after 20mins, the amount of arrogant hollywood types annoying him and his annoying wife in the movie are just too much to bear. Hardly any good jokes aswell, I was skipping through to the end in hope he snaps and murders them all but no nothing.
I dont think many will follow, they would need to be able to deliver a similar quality game where you can solve some quests in 5+ different ways. And at least Larian put some attractive women in their game. Doubt the others would do that. And it has the D&D license. A generic game without all that lore and races/classes wouldnt draw many in.
its way worse than fallout4 at least there you could explore a connected world, had power armor and vats and more gore and mini nukes and the fallout lore. And the exploration was what carried Bethesda games that just isnt fun with the same few random generated things to do on 1000 planets which are empty. Then every named npc is unkillable so you cant even kill all these annoying ugly abominations they put in the game. Only thing fun was the ship building, but without real space exploration also pointless except for more storage.
The problem are the human rights laws, everyone who commanded it or did the deed would be in prison afterwards. If it is on record. Best they could do without going full dictorship is change Asylum laws EU wide then have secure proccess facilities and anyone without a pass gets send back to Lybia.
They can also tow them back to where they came from then sink the ship. Or just send the Nato to take Lybia and contain them there. Probably less bad news than sinking ships on the seas. But then better improve the eastern EU flank security.
1 more on the pile of thousands of lifeless npcs doesnt make a difference and I like a good feud, thats what made shadows of mordor so good when the orcs came back for more and everytime they got more injured. Makes the game more personal. A good example would be Angry Joe vs Olgoth that was funny. But yeah in Starfield he will probably not come back.
Pretty sure you cant kill him anyway in that last crimson fleet quest where you raid his capital ship, at least I saw a video where that wasnt the case. I thought humilating him by imprisoning him is better, just killing him would proof him right that the pirates are just animals and criminals. And I didnt want to proof him right, even tho he was an exception since you kill your way through just to get to him but that was self defense.

But that says "Marked as unessential (if applicable)", havent played skyrim in a while but usually only the Jarls, Guildquestlines and Mainstory npcs were immortal and some could even lose that status once they werent relevant anymore. You still had like 60% named npcs like merchants you could just kill. In Starfield the most basic unimportant merchant in the corner of the map is immortal.
Then you would only need to infilitrate the military and do propaganda there and control who gets hired. Than you dont need voting at all if you dont have a broad mass of different opinions/views with different backgrounds.
I would respect them more if they would just admit they are on the way to a ditctatorship/oligarchy.
