So there's not a single solution because there's two conflicting problems. If the state pays for everything then there's no financial incentive for people not to eat themselves to 500 lbs. If state pays for nothing then people go bankrupt or die from bad luck.

In EU they simply tax unhealthy things, so people can think they're free, while government makes their dietary choices for them.

Recent sugary tax in Poland, that was supposed go towards programs aimed at diabetics and supposedly all it did was cover some costs of needles.

MY GOD! They did not immediately gain the supernatural ability to distinguish between you two based on your whining?

This reminds me that one of my teachers in High School took a whole of lot of time to notice that there were twins in one other class, since she didn't teach that class at all, but only saw one or the other during breaks.

You know you have too many laws, when you end up making snails to be legally fish and carrots to be fruits.

Funny how you can buy a functional, deadly blackpowder revolver replica in Poland, needing only your ID and get some blackpowder from Czech Republic (in Poland that would require registration) and go on shoot up a school and that doesn't even happen. Police isn't even tracking blackpowder replica guns in their own category, so the media's antigun hitpiece barely had any examples of their use in homicides.

Still it doesn't excuse authoritarian laws regarding normal, modern guns - for example, you need to present belief that you life is in danger if you want a gun license for defensive use. EDIT: Also, one can be denied a license for a self-defense gun with no reason given.

First of all, years of "real socialism" have fostered a hate toward the rich and any private business owners, so making it illegal wasn't that far fetched. However that was shut down by Constitutional Court for a while.

Secondly, EU did ATAD, so the law was updated to be compliant with the constitution, but it was still ambiguous AF.

Finally, it is a part of the racket - since it is so ambiguous, it safer to petition for paid advance tax ruling.

Well, In Poland it's illegal to legally optimize your taxes for the sake of legally optimizing your taxes.

In Poland you can be temporary arrested for 3 months.

Afterwards, the court can prolong it for another 3 months.

Afterwards, the court can prolong it for another 3 months.

Afterwards, the court can prolong it for another 3 months.

...

It can go on for a while. It is called "extractive arrest" and it is meant to get suspect to admit when there is no evidence. It can go over 4 years and even some outliers are 9 or 12 years.

In Poland, the socialist central planner decided recently to forbid sales of Amantadine-based drugs for off-label use. That is in addition to bogging down the research of amantadine effects on covid, that were discovered by a doctor after treating a lot of patients.

US seems to have DJ laws, but hung jury isn't an acquittal, thus it's eligible for retrial.

I'm not exactly sure if it's true, but the left is saying that police is(will be?) monitoring pregnancies on leaving and entering the country.

Mysterious plane crash

Yes, that.

the entirety of the Polish government were all on the same plane at the same time

Unfortunately it lacked prime minister. Now that he's announced his return to polish politics gas prices are doing their best to reach the infamous 7 PLN. Not saying that there is any causation. Just bad Omens.

Well, Polish government is using EU money for reelection purposes. That's the most obvious attack vector. And current government is starved for the money as current administration has really blown the government and reelection welfare up.

Worst part is that they're now coming for middle class money.
