The medical professional class are as bad as journalists. Medical personnel are arguably worse: they have degrees, certifications, high salaries, and the ability to surreptitiously kill people. Their delusions of grandeur are validated at every turn.
That paragraph was striking. I always forget how alien and evil these people are. Just the idea that a character might be religiously motivated is anathema to them.
Power armor as a crutch is an obvious story choice, if they were intent on telling a story. Instant stakes and payoffs, just by deciding whether the character starts a situation in armor or not.
