Another example of demoralization that Bezmenov mentioned. I have been seeing this as well, they are so destroyed that they will defend any authority figure especially if it is a figure that we question or criticize.
Anyone paying attention to Capcom over the last 20 years knows that they are front and center when it comes to taking the wrong side of EVERY decision ever, even going as far back as including on-disc DLC and making players pay extra to unlock it.
All they ever release these days are anniversary editions of their many titles, and we also see how they lobotomized their recent RE4 remake as well.
They were also front and center with forcing games for windows live on all their games too at some point. If you do not know what that is, I envy your innocence. I am sure there are many games that still have GFWL and are forever bricked since they have not updated their games to remove GFWL
They will have to rely on yet another megaman reimagining to save their asses if they continue to piss people off
We already had them back then in a temporary push for games become free by being ad-supported. The worst offender was Price of Persia where you were bombarded with a 30 second Mcdonalds commercial every time you died.
Other annoying instances involved playing an intense game and then getting a 30-second ad in the middle of a firefight.
The irony of it all is that 15+ years ago, a few game developers experimented with the idea of ad-supported games that enabled them to give many of their good games for free. and the ads were not as intrusive as they are now especially in paid products and services.
Pretty normal for an early access game, and the devs seem determined to clean it up as evidenced by their routine updates.
The formula continues to work well to this day, I am amazed it has not been battle-royale'd to death yet.
