I read the first two omnibuses of this run (up to Batman incorporated) and I'm not impressed. This run has always been acclaimed by comics media, but I'm not a huge fan. The stories are interesting, but I feel they need to explain themselves better, it is hard to know what the hell is even happening. The text story about the Joker morrison wrote (included in the omnibus) is some of the most awful prose I have ever read. It reads like emo fan-fiction by a barely literate 14 year old. Damian is OK I guess, not a huge fan of him honestly. Just started the Batman incorporated and right off the bat I think it's dumb Bruce Wayne publicly announces he is funding Batman.

Overall, I thought it was OK. Some interesting ideas by Morrison and nice art by Frank Quitely and Andy Kubert, but I didn't love it. It isn't one of my favorite Batman runs. The Jeph Leob and Tim sale books, Steve Engleheart run or Chuck Dixon's stuff are a lot better than this in my opinion.

Am I the only one who thinks this run is overrated?

Question above. My only experience is with a handful of episodes from the original series. They were OK, but I'm not sure I want to watch the whole thing. It's a little too low budget for me. Can I just jump into the movies or one of the later series?

I haven't read any in some time, are they any good still? I was thinking about getting the BPRD Hell on Earth books and the Hellboy and the BPRD books. I haven't read anything beyond BPRD Plague of the Frogs and Hellboy in Hell, so I wanted to verify if they were woke or not.

I am wanting to get a 4k player, but I am not really familiar enough with this type of equipment to know which ones are the best. I am looking for something pretty simple, just 4k disc playback, high res audio, and can play files from USB. I don't really need wifi or streaming. A dedicated audio out would be nice as well, which would be simpler for my setup.

I was considering thks one from LG https://www.bestbuy.com/site/lg-ubk80-4k-ultra-hd-blu-ray-player-black/6215306.p?skuId=6215306

Is this a good pick, or should I get a different one?

It's easy to get bogged down in all the garbage that comes out, so I thought it would be nice to talk about actually good media. Personally, I wanted to see if there is anything decent coming out I may have missed as well.

I really like a lot of David Bowie's stuff, and someone recently suggested the Flaming Lips to me, which I have also greatly enjoyed.

Does anyone have any other good "space rock" suggestions?

I collect and play a lot of old games (PS1, N64, Gameboy, and Ps2 are the main ones I buy for), but the prices on retro games are rising rapidly. Many games have doubled or tripled in price since around 2020. I like to play PS1 RPGs, but a lot of them are worth way more then I'm willing to spend nowadays. I usually prefer original hardware over emulating, but I've just been priced out of most systems (PS2 is about the only one that I care about where the price is still afforable, but even that is way up). Do you guys think this is a bubble that will pop, or are these insane prices here to stay?

(P.S. if you don't belive me look up any major game on pricecharting.com and look how the prices have spiked since 2020)

I don't know much about it. Is it any good, and it it woke?

Does anybody have any good sources to prove this? Somebody I know is skeptical, but I'm having a hard time finding good evidence.

Tales of the Jedi is actually pretty good. Basically just bonus Clone Wars episodes. Well animated, and there really isn't any kind of agenda on display. The alphabet people are even raging that in an episode that adapts a chapter from the Ahsoka book, a lesbian couple was removed.

Now, I don't like supporting Disney, but if you can find way to watch it without supporting them and you like the Clone Wars, its worth a watch.

I still don't know though, why they used the name and logo from the comic book series of the same name, despite having no relation to it.

14

If so, is it any good? I sometimes enjoy a generic Rock movie every now and again. Cavill as Superman again also has me interested, and I've been itching to see a comic-book movie, but Marvel is now woke trash so I don't have many options.

Did insurance premiums really increase because of Obamacare? I am continuing to write my essay on Universal healthcare, showing both the pros and cons, but I haven't been able to find any evidence Obamacare actually increased premiums, all I can find are conservative media outlets saying so. Trump often claimed Obamacare caused insurance prices to rise, and even some to lose their insurance, but I'm have trouble finding any evidence of that. Does anyone know anymore about this, or have any links to credible sites showing evidence of it?

I am currently researching universal healthcare in the U.S. as part of a research paper I am writing for college (ten pages), but I am having trouble finding academically accepted sources that don't have a liberal bias that aren't old. Does anyone have any resource suggestions?

If so, would you mind giving a rundown on what your job is like? I mentioned in a previous post, I am a current radiology student having trouble finding a school that will let me take the technical portion due to vaccine mandates. A teacher told me I have a really good engineering mindset. I previously had considered engineering, but was turned off due to the large amount of desk work engineering requires. He told me biomedical engineering would be more hands-on, plus my health related classes would transfer to it. Is this true?

Above question. I thought it looked interesting, and my local library has it on DVD. Is it worth watching?

Article above. I'm not familiar with the company, is this a good or bad thing?

Trying to get exempted from influenza and COVID-19 vaccines. I have something wrote up for COVID, but does anyone have anything for the flu? Something from a Christian or Catholic point of view would be nice.

14

I am currently majoring in radiology technology in college. I really love science, math, and I enjoy helping people, and I have a part time job at an assisted living home that I enjoy quite a bit. So I thought radiology technology would be a good balance to all those things.

However, my school now wants me to have the COVID-19 vaccination to enter into the program, so it looks like radiology technology may no longer be an option. I am going to try to get exempted but I have spoken to people and the director of the program is very strict, so it looks unlikely that I will.

Does anybody know of any similar programs I could pursue, that hopefully wouldn't require the vaccine?

I decided to post about this since no one else had, and if you hadn't seen it, it's an excellent documentary. The first half is funny as he asks believers in gender ideology simple questions that they can't answer. The second half is downright creepy when he covers where modern gender ideology comes from and how it has spread. It really gives interesting insight on how trans activists think and work. I already didn't agree with and support modern gender ideology, but this documentary got me thinking about how destructive and evil it actually is. I highly recommend it (if you can stomach it at least, at some points it's disturbing).

I saw someone watching this show, and it actually looks fairly interesting. I feel like though almost everytime I start a show these days it has some PC/diversity garbage that makes me disinterested. Before I start and potentially waste time, does it have any SJW themes in it?

Looking for some good books on the above subjects, for my own personal interest. I was interested in reading about Hitler's ideology, and how he propogated the German people to eventually commit the holocaust. I'm not super knowledgable about WWII itself either, I pretty much just know the very broad strokes, so a book on the general history of WWII would also be helpful. I was looking at my library, and while they have a ton of books, some of them are more recent, and I don't want some biased retroactive history by some leftist professor.

21

I was looking for some good Batman runs that aren't SJW. I was looking at the Scott Snyder and Grant Morrison runs specifically. People seem to think highly of them, but Grant Morrison uses a "they" pronoun to describe himself, and Scott Snyder has criticized Comicsgate, so I was concerned the books might have SJW themes in them. Are these books SJW at all? I did not want to spend big bucks on omnibus only to not like them.

14

I liked Spider-Gwen in into the Spider-verse, and Marvel has this new omnibus coming out of the comic. However, I don't read modern marvel because most of it sucks and is nothing more than SJW propaganda. Is this book like that, or is it actually good? https://previewsworld.com/Catalog/DEC200632
