Jenner flubbed the transgenders-in-womens-sports question, and tripped over election integrity (both over 75% popular with the voters). It's not the fcuking transgender-ism, Tomi. He/She's a bad horse and everyone can see it.
Well, let's give my thoughts a little shake.
S1 is a typical cops vs drug dealers story
S2 is a class struggle, unions good, corporations bad story, without mentioning unions shot themselves with unreasonable demands and uncompetitiveness
S3 is a ridiculous legalize drugs and utopia will happen subplot, and a resolution to S1
S4 is a plight of city schools story, teachers good, government didn't give them enough money, without mentioning every single school political problem on the map is literally some teachers union bs. Baltimore, where the show is based in, is supposed to receive frggin BILLIONS of dollars a year in feddy funding for everything, trust me, it's not the lack of funding that's killing you, it's the corruption.
S5 is a decline of journalism story, with a hack journo writing made up stories and an angel editor telling him off for it. I guess we can forgive the show for being made before the age of clickbait, but it's not because of singular bad apples journalism is dead, I struggle to find five three journalists in the country worth reading.
I like the show, I think it's well written. I don't agree with it's politics, and if it had been more heavy-handed I would have dropped it in a heartbeat.
Far more likely that the number of genuine gays and straights declare that they are straight after 30 years is probably under half.
I'm open to the idea that the number of declared gays followed the same trend as the number of declared non-hetro teens; that it's totally a fad... But that would still mean that conversion therapy works. Something that works 90% of the time (when done pavlov style), is still more effective than something not done at all.
Similar tactics seem like they’d work in reverse. Find a gay person, forcibly isolate them from the gay community both online and in real life, provide them friendship and make them feel good and welcomed, only let them be around straight people, force them to disassociate with their gay friends, and gradually expose them to the sexual content about the opposite sex and make sure they are aroused when watching it.
That is... not what I thought conversion therapy would be. It also raises a whole ton of ethical questions about training/detraining people's sexuality like lab rats...
I do not remember why his father was different to begin with
I think R.A. Salvatore changed Drizzt's backstory a little bit between Crystal Shard and the actual Drow books. In the Crystal Shard his father straight up worshiped the Forest God (read: Druid God) Mielikki, and he was forced to kill him? I think?
In the Drow trilogy, his father had an attack of conscience after being forced to kill a baby. And he was possessed by an evil spirit so Drizzt was forced to kill him.
Drow society never made sense to me tbh. You can't have a massive network of hospitals and schools and banks if your entire ethos is "screw the other guy, backstab your friends". It just wouldn't function. Even the defense of "but they use slaves for that" doesn't cover the fact that it's designed to be super corrupt and self-destructive.
It's like an entire country of Kamala Harrises. It shouldn't work.
As a side note, does anybody find it aggravating that only Left Wing Dnd sessions get promoted? In general, I mean. On youtube it's always this super corporate liberal group playing out identity fantasies and on Dnd forums I keep running into weirdos talking about revolution and bringing liberal democracy to feudal kingdoms.
Annnd heeereee you go...
