An extra layer of management between the users and the big tech servers doesn't change anything. It doesn't matter what GETTR or any of these other sites that rely on Amazon, Google, and Apple say. They ultimately answer to the entities that own their infrastructure. It's just a matter of time..
There's no reason this particular pot won't be slow-boiled too, once the frogs hop in.
I hear you.
You don't need to believe in a sky father to understand the need for good, and doing things with good intent. Honoring the spirit, rather than the letter of the law is the heart of Christian practice-- we call it being lead by the Holy Spirit, but anyone who acts with posterity in mind, who plants trees who's shade they will never enjoy, acts in accordance with the same good we worship. Being a good steward of this earth doesn't require religion. Any who act in the name of the future are my allies, even if they aren't co-religionists.
It's not just women. Most liberals haven't been 'punched by reality in the mouth,' that's why they're liberal. A healthy fear of the world and appreciation of the need for self-defense is one of the two mindsets that the left lacks. (The other is a sense of the sacred. 'Godless liberal' isn't just a meme.)
Rhetoric. They've either rejected the holy spirit outright or implicitly by calling good evil, and evil good. The only reason they invoke Jesus is because they think you'll listen to their arguments if they ascribe them to Him-- it's just another skin-suit ploy.
This is true.
I live in a rural backwater of a blue state. County would be hard red if not for college student voting skewing it towards purple (the population is just that low.) The state's urban centers have complete electoral dominance over the rest of the state-- the only reason the state is governable at all is because the urban voting blocs ecede any accountability ("Vote blue no matter who"), so the state government is run somewhere between a corrupt banana republic junta and a late soviet union puppet state. Every problem's become a nail for the hammer of "more government" to hit.
I've often wondered just when my state passed that point where increasing taxes causes revenue decline due to lower overall economic activity. I feel like it was late 80s, early 90s. It would be an interesting data science sort of experiment, but nobody who matters would want to see the results...
It's a war where only one side is fighting. 4th generation warfare, waged in a way that tries to be as covert as possible.
My mind is drawn to the SPLC guy with the post-it of the declining white majority over time, for some reason.
Yeah. When the alternative is understanding the implications of the Panama Papers and the scope of the criminal activity Epstein's black book suggests.... people just want to stick their heads back in the sand.
The cognitive dissonance which a realization of the depth and breadth of societal corruption causes... well, it more or less ensures that only zealots and neuro-atypicals are willing to follow the evidence. The destruction of your worldview is not something a normal person will countenance without resistance and/or denial of evidence.
Batch mixing to avoid SIDs clusters is standard practice, isn't it?
Thinking that in the age of big data, bad batches couldn't be identified and distributed in a controlled fashion-- well, that's just naïve. Greed dictates that big pharma won't replace bad product if they aren't forced to and Government will sweep it under the rug because they want the power & population control a mandate creates. Even without active targeting of "undesirable" demographics, it's a nightmare.
What's preventing a simple imagined operation to ensure that bad batches are distributed anyway? That's no oversight-- the foxes are already guarding the henhouse. If this did happen, how would you even know?
Bullets are expensive, but ropes are reusable.
Yet I think the Muslims have the right of it, because gravity is free.
