Just like the filthy mags in MGS!
You know, in order to end a war you do actually have to talk to the other side, even if you think they are big evil meanies. But who am I kidding, they have no interest in ending this war.
Yeah I never really cared about the handheld games or Revolution. They were TOO anime and tropey. Literally the only ones I enjoyed were 1 and 4, both of which I think played to the strengths of the setting AND the fairly unique gameplay.
Bear in mind that the series was already basically dead after the handheld titles until Sega decided on a whim to release a PC port of the original and it became wildly popular, which basically spurred the production of 4.
I wouldn't entirely write it off for that reason alone. I suspect the only chance for a revival at this point though is if Sega dies and the IP gets picked up by a more competent publisher.
Yeah, I always had this idea in the back of my head where they could move the timeline forwards and do like a cold war period style story, maybe with playable teams on both sides of the conflict to highlight the tragedy of war. That's what I would do if I was in charge of the IP anyway.
The only Sega IP I care about is Valkyria Chronicles, and I seriously doubt they'll make another one of those (although 4 coming out did surprise me, so who knows). Otherwise I really wouldn't miss them at all.
There isn't enough unity left in Britain to even entertain this idea.
I used to do that all the time back when I was a teenager hijacking my neighbour's wifi signal. One of the things I miss most about early youtube.
A lot of our social faux pas have been ctrl-c ctrl-v'd whole cloth from the USA, without consideration for context or history. I've even heard people parrot the line that 'we are a nation of immigrants', which makes even less sense in Europe than it does in America (where it doesn't make that much sense either). I think it's just a consequence of the USA being the de facto leader of the Western world. A lot of the cultural context in Europe is full of American hang-ups, even when it doesn't hold up to even cursory scrutiny.
In my experience, the MOST important thing, more important than anything else, is to find a kind of exercise that you will actually stick with. No matter the faults (not enough variety, not doing it long enough, not doing it frequently enough), doing SOME exercise is far better than doing none.
For me, it was cycling and basic weight training. I always struggled to find an exercise I would actually stick with until I came upon that combo. Once you get over the initial hurdle, you start to build it into your routine and it actually feels weird if you don't do it. Then, once you feel better about exercise as a whole, you can try different things from a position of confidence.
I can assure you that the British public have no more control over what our elites decide to do than the American public have over theirs.
Excellent comment that sums up my thoughts very succinctly.
I'm sorry to hear that man, that's awful. It really is an absolute minefield out there for men today. I can totally understand why some men just give up on women completely. I'll pray for your son, for what it's worth.
Wow that's crazy, but unfortunately not that surprising. We're all immersed in modernity, and women are particularly susceptible to the influences that seem to drive them insane. I hope your son didn't get too emotionally scarred by that whole fiasco.
I think another important observation that makes it difficult is that the 'sweet spot' is different for different people, because people mature at different rates. I know that if I had gotten married in my early 20s, I would have made a complete pig's ear of it and would probably be divorced now, because I was still a stupid kid who didn't know what he wanted from life. Other people that age are much more impressive and really have their head screwed on straight, usually because they experienced more difficulties in life than I did, so them getting married at that age would be a lot safer.
That's probably another reason why people used to get married a lot younger, because people were forced to mature much earlier and didn't have this extended adolescence we have today.
I'm glad I waited, but at the same time getting married later presents its own problems. There's less time for my wife and I to live together as just the two of us because neither of us are getting any younger and we want to have kids before we're out of that peak fertility window.
Overall I guess people used to get married earlier because 1. It makes more sense biologically and sociologically to pair up sooner and 2. The quality of people's upbringing (and the people themselves) was better in the past, so they didn't have to worry so much about their immaturity going into their 20s.
Church really is the last reliable place to find decent women. If I hadn't found my wife there I really have no idea where I'd even begin to look.
In the UK if you are looking for quality home good and appliances, try looking in charity shops. A lot of quality stuff from yesteryear is being sold for pennies nowadays, and it will last a lot longer.
I think he's referring to the other reason black people might overreport pain. A big ol' bottle of OxyContin is a couple free meal tickets in the hood.
Wow that was quick.
I don't think being introverted is something you need to 'cure', as long as it is not detrimentally impacting your life. I only really have one friend my own age IRL, and we don't do an awful lot together, but I get enough socialisation through work and church to where I don't feel like I'm being devoured by my own thoughts every day (like I used to). I feel like I have enough of a connection with the world.
You find a level of social interaction that suits you, and as long as you can still hold a decent conversation and interact with society in a sensible manner, I don't think you need to push yourself to be a people person. Heck, that might even do more damage than good.
I'm more talking about removing some of the obnoxious 'diversity' that they seem to have shoehorned in. I don't really care if the story remains the same.
Thanks for this. I'll keep this bookmarked in case someone actually does create a 'Grounded Starfield' mod.
Awaiting the 'Grounded Galaxy' mod before I play this one I think.
Ah, well that explains it.
I guess it proves that even modern day NPCs are capable of nationalism in the abstract. If we had the levers of power, I have no doubt we could mould public opinion in the right direction.
