Hey Giz, I wondered if you'd pick up on that.

Seems like retribution is a core part of reparations, at least as far as vocal elements of that community are involved.

That's an important lesson. You can't pay them enough to make them stop wanting to hurt you. They'll take the money, sure. And then they'll hurt you.

Why? They'll just claim yours by co-opting the school system if they do that...

Under the country’s military law, mutiny carries a maximum sentence of life imprisonment, but Fowler claims this is unlikely, and that Kenderesi will most likely be fined.

Fowler is the same Lt.Col. who was surprised they went after him at all, so I'm not sure I'd trust his judgement in this matter. The same retired Lt.Col., so it may be he's not been exposed to how politicised things are becoming.

It may be a case of pour encourager les autres...

The truly repulsive bit is that if you point this out to twitter communists, some of them will celebrate the killings, they feel like that's sticking it to the capitalist oppressors.

Something to remember behind the false smiles and pretty words. These are people who would gleefully butcher entire demographics to advance the interests of their own. They're no more humanitarian then Genghis Khan.

Honestly don't know what to make of Brand. Some years ago he was just spouting talking points with very little thought behind them, but this and a couple of other bits lately ... is the guy actually researching and finding stuff out?

Kudos, I suppose, if he's making the effort to actually make his own decisions rather than copy-pasting someone else's

As screenwriters, woke writers don't seem to know how to write heroes any more.

Hell, they barely know how to write villains, churning out dreck that would embarrass a Saturday morning cartoon in it's simplicity.

If all you can write is cardboard-cutout villains, all you can do is try and tear people down.

... you will comply with the anarchist barricade (and subsequent bit where you're dragged from the car and beaten unconscious) or the police will charge you with running the barricade?

One of my more militant cousins told me that i may have brown skin, but I inherited a "white personality" from my white ancestors.

See, to me, that's the core of the problem.

If we're engaging in the stupid collective-only reasoning that social justice types of all colours choose to indulge themselves in, what hope have any black people got of doing better when any attempt to do so is immediately written off as being some kind of coconut?

I genuinely don't understand the mentality that would denigrate the choice to go to get qualifications, work hard, and do well. My in-laws, who are Ghanaian, would not either, I suspect, given that they've all done basically that.

There's also the point of having your child go on a based monologue in the middle off a school history lesson.

So far, I've settled for the historic basic version without going into modern-day politics. They'll have a whole adult lifetime of modern-day politics when they grow up...

And that's why they will not only never admit the truth themselves, but, for as long as they hold sway, they will forbid you from discussing it. January 6th was the date "the swamp" rose up and struck back against their enemies - the citizens of the US. Not just the ones in the Capitol, simply the ones who might want to ask questions.

The insidious kind of evil that disguises itself as good.

I very much doubt she'd characterise her own behaviour as "hateful", she probably thinks she's trying to make her son "better", even if she manages to drive them to make dramatic changes at a young age to please her - even if she manages to drive him to end it all when he realises that he will never please the bigot I suspect her to be.

She'll be sad, she'll be heartbroken, and she'll say that poor Bennett was unable to overcome his male heritage as she looks for the next life she can, in the name of virtue, leach of all meaning and hope of happiness.

I suspect what will happen is that by age 5, having spent their entire life being told how bad they are for being male, little Bennett there is going to be clamouring to get himself carved up so mummy doesn't hate him any more.

I can't even make a joke out of that. It's just fucking depressing.

TLDR version: Academic defines elements of the Republican manifesto as "anti-democratic", despite having cross-party support, uses this to assert that despite those elements having majority support, Republicans are anti-democratic for working to implement them.

I'm not sure I should be encouraged that your government is changing regulations in such a manner. Imagine buying a car from a manufacturer that's somehow managed to get an exemption from the relevant safety legislation - that's not a warm-fuzzy feeling you get inside at the thought of taking your possibly-deathtrap up to motorway speeds, is it?

I do actually have a little sympathy for the guy. Since infant mortality rates have improved to the point that the later children of the monarch really are spares, they're all kinda trainwrecks:

  • Princess Margaret;
  • Prince Andrew;
  • Prince Edward (not as much as Andrew, but part of what the Royals do is serve their time in the military. Edward conspicuously failed to do this);
  • And now, Prince Harry.

It's a cloying, confining lifestyle, I can see a lifetime of very few choices resulting in aberrant behaviour.
