They might simply be nihilistic enough to just not value continuing the species.

APDSmith 22 points ago +22 / -0

That might not help.

Seriously, UK law requires you to give up your passwords upon police request - they don't need a court order.

So unless that backup of your phone (and your laptop) is an offline backup, you're letting the police have their way with your kit, or you're spending up to two years in prison.

If that sounds like I'm saying "Treat travel to the UK as you would travel to China" - yeah, I kinda am.

If you're unlucky it could go every bit as badly for you as a trip to CN. Do you feel lucky?

No idea why he can't do it himself

I think that's because the incomparable genuises of New York put it on their statute books, and the governor isn't allowed to just rewrite the law any time that's convenient.

... only if you think that trans and queer people necessarily seek to molest and mutilate children.

Good old fashioned repressive tolerance.

Can't have their side punished for breaking the law, now, can we?

9
APDSmith 9 points ago +9 / -0

Pffft.

About the best this lot will manage is being dumped in a mass grave by Party apparatchiks who themselves occupy their own mass grave at the next purge, leaving no evidence of their passing on the world at all.

"We've already decided that they're guilty, but we need taxpayer money to figure out what we are going to convict them of..."?

"We will unleash pandemic after pandemic until you surrender everything you own!"?

The issue with the speed, as far as I can work out, is that they've only got partial control over the fringes that they use to push the boundaries.

Those fringes are racing off into the distance as far and as fast as they can; past a certain point, you've got to be lead by them or commit to pulling them up short - but they can't pull them up short because so much of their support tacitly accepts what those fringes are up to.

See! The problem went away!

And they didn't even have to kill anyone! See how merciful the communist is!

8
APDSmith 8 points ago +8 / -0

Remember, there is no problem a communist cannot solve by killing people until the problem goes away.

...

OK, now apply that argument to women's romance novels. That dude is being forced to act out your fantasies - but the problem any good feminist has is not the behavior, because they don't care, they have no standards.

The problem is the man.

9
APDSmith 9 points ago +9 / -0

Nah.

What they want is submission.

That's why they will never stop. Their ideology demands that they must identify an external cause for their own failures and relentlessly attack it - because otherwise they might have to look at themselves - so they will never, ever let up. Even if this reparations thing went through, they'd find another reason, likely "systemic racism", something that's all but unprovable - designed to be unprovable.

There's also a point that he's going to have to be fighting well outside his weight class, surely.

That's not generally a good sign for the lightweight in those situations.

APDSmith 14 points ago +14 / -0

What excuse does he have, other than racial supremacy?

With how toxic Twitter can be, we he even feel the need to cover that up?

APDSmith 8 points ago +8 / -0

So, the mainstream media no longer worries if a story is true, merely about it's "provenance".

So they're a press office for the administration, then?

Men, particularly, left teaching for a reason.

Kids aren't stupid, and it didn't take girls long to realise that if the teacher's male, all it takes is one "the teacher touched me" story to end a teacher's career.

Whether it happened or not.

Particularly when, these days, coordinating a group to make accusations of the same man at the same time is trivially easy.

You would have to be insane to want to be a teacher these days.

APDSmith 4 points ago +4 / -0

The irony is more bitter than that.

To ensure the continuing existence of this group, they must necessarily genocide another demographic to replenish their ranks.

It's genocide all the way down...

Hey Giz!

Genuine question: If, as these people dearly wish, the procedure was to inflict surgical sterilisation upon everybody who even hinted at this at the earliest available opportunity, on the off-chance that one or two of them would benefit, would that not count as a genocide of sorts?

1
APDSmith 1 point ago +2 / -1

You know, if certain conditions were met, I would agree.

Unfortunately - and this one misses this little nugget off entirely - we can't tell who is a "trans kid" and who's merely going to grow out of it by 20.

This one would surgically disfigure and sterilise whole demographics on the off-chance they saved the one or two that they care about.

How is that not the intent to commit genocide?

Just waiting for that "P" to be made official...

19
APDSmith 19 points ago +19 / -0

Honestly not sure if it made a difference. What did for the kid was the requirement to use bits of their digestive tract to mock up a vagina (itself a requirement caused by the early use of puberty blockers); the digestive tract is where most of the really unpleasant interactions between your body and the outside world take place (there's a reason why digestive cancers are such bastards to treat; your digestive system is one of the tougher bits of your body, so anything that can affect it badly enough to kill the cancer tends to be extremely hard on the rest of you)
