It isn't just that they like money but that Disney is a publicly traded company is and required to do what is in the best interest of the shareholders. Alienating half your fan base and destroying billions of dollars of IP isn't in the best interest of the shareholders and the CEO realizes that if he doesn't fix it quickly he may not only lose his job but the board can sue to claw back bonuses from the executives responsible for this SJW nonsense.
