Seriously. All that shit about refusing to surrender while conscripting every adult male makes me fucking sick. He's creating a legion of human shields is what he's doing. Because even though they'd be classified as insurgents, if just one is shot by a Russian it'll be an international incident that "Russia just murdered civilians!"

Speaking of which, that's something I haven't really been seeing yet. If just one child or babushka got shelled, it would be front page news all over the world. Their names would be immortalized a la Floyd... yet we're a week into this and I haven't heard anything of the sort. A quick search has all the major rags say there are up to 1,200 civilian casualties (400 of which were fatalities). For comparison, the month-long battle to take Fallujah in 2004 had 600 civilian fatalities officially.
