My question is, is it even worth trying to fight against all this or just do like I do [and mainly watch or read stuff from 2014 and prior?

This.

It literally is just this.

A lot of my (our?) favorite content from the old times had plenty of even-handed and charitable handling of various racial and gender minorities that I would not have blinked at. They still hold up and I can go back and rewatch them without feeling insulted or pandered to.

The blight is making people MORE racist, and by design.
