It really do be like dat doe ;_;

Ffs back when it was at peak performance people were able to have conversations with the AI like this, have it build off of things you were writing... Man, it was mind-blowing. My first experience messing around with it was a war story and, I wish I still had the screenshots from it, it was able to 'understand' it was a WWI story and put in its own descriptions accordingly. Other times you could have a 40k-type story, or engage in what felt like actual conversations with actual people. I couldn't believe it when I was able to actually get into arguments over whether The Smiths or The Cure were the better band (hint: It's The Smiths). My only previous experience with a text generator was Cleverbot...waaay back in like, 2005, and it absolutely blew me away.

Now...ugh, just thinking about it makes me sad. I almost wish I never even got to experience AI Dungeon at its peak.

There are some AID refugees trying to do something called NovelAI but the power of GPT-3 just can't be overstated, and the GPT-Neo and GPT-J AI they're using is open-source and so just can't compare to peak AID at this point in time. I'm hopeful though, they've been able to do a lot and NovelAI's only been around for like, 5 or 6 months.
