I'm starting to feel like these people are so attracted to D&D lately not just as a subversive invasion. But also because being able to arbitrarily declare "My argument is charismatic and convincing" and having everyone forced to play along with that (with the right dice roll) is their ultimate fantasy.
They do get to power trip if they're DMing and if they're just playing they get to inhabit their bizarre fantasies. Not like, "I'm a dark elf bard." shit, that's normal for D&D. I mean "I'm a dark elf bard who's pronoun is "zeh" because my gender is unknown and affects my roles" or some shit.
