The Arabs have been forward planning on the subject of minorities basically forever.
The slave trade to the middle east (from Africa) was significantly larger. The Arabs only used castrated slaves. They don't have any of the issues that the USA does with ... a certain minority.
They obviously had a much clearer perception of the risks involved.
US slave trade was run by jews. They all thought they could save money by breeding their own slaves.
