It wasn’t even conquered areas. The majority of the women came from Australia and Britain, American men even in the 1940s realized American women were spoilt and entitled.
There were multiple fights between Americans vs British/Aussies when US troops were assembling and training in those countries. They were richer, better looking, and way more charming than whatever the commonwealth could muster, and it drove the Anglosphere crazy.
