Which is why we need to make new jobs for ourselves. Also, the Clarke's law is very accurate here.
How do you propose we do that? It seems to me you can only have a job if it's ultimately helping (or at least claiming to) produce a good or service somebody wants. That somebody could be yourself, but if that's your only customer your job had better be farming or you'll have no income to buy food.
If you want customers other than yourself, you'll have to do something cheaper than automation can (so you'll be earning about as much as a sweatshop worker) or something automation can't do. But automation is on track to do everything humans can do, including fake intelligence, emotions and spirituality. The only way this works out is if you know some people who have a principle of favoring human goods/services over automated ones. In other words, you need to join or build an pro-human/anti-tech community. If this were to grow it could be considered a parallel society. If it continues to grow it could replace the ordinary society. If this happens all over the world then technology is peacefully stopped from destroying us all. That's my hope but let me know if you have a better idea.
Genuine answer? Base it off what you saw on Star Trek. Not the military drama we normally see but that times it's dealing with Normal Life. Cisco's Dad ran a restaurant promoting itself as non machine made home cooking. Picard talks about life at home a lot.
I think a part of the answer is technology, not just ai itself, will be used to ease the burden for cost for everything. Medical tech takes out all those tests you need to take now and the idiot doctor in between. Suddenly the $100,000 bill is $100. Dr Crusher had a ship of 1200 people and was able to serve all of them with a small office area. Yes, it sucks for the medical industry to have all of that disappear, but you and I get cheap medical.
Food with all the automation suddenly hits very cheap prices. The farmer doesn't work in the same way. Some do, like Picard's brother, but most use automation to serve billions. Then food processors keep that food so everyone is fed well. We don't have that, but an automated restaurant would be a good and easy step between. Suddenly that really expensive burger is way cheaper.
Instead of a large manufacturing plant that only makes one thing, it's very possible to have one that is making several things at once. Order that new Nintendo, and it's at your door cheaper and faster than today.
We then start to work on design and exploration. We are imaginative and able to tell stories. I use AI all the time to help me with that. Suddenly a large office is just me. I'm hated now, but I expect most of the offices I am competing with will go away soon.
Instead of trying to keep the job I have, I aim at the job I will have when it's all automated. It's made my life easier, and weird at times.
We can't just co-exist with AI that's as intelligent as us but millions of times faster and cheap. There's no possible future in which it isn't used to enslave or kill us. And even if there were there wouldn't be any jobs using it because all those jobs would also be automated.
