This has been studied to death. Progressives literally do not understand how conservatives think. AT ALL. So they project their thoughts onto them, which gives you things like this.

This can happen because progressives are able to safely insulate themselves from conservative thought, ideas, and culture. Society defaults to progressive values because progressive values permeate all forms of mass communication and education, so it's easy for progressives to silo themselves.

"Lowest Common Denominator Syndrome" eh?
It has ruled society (particularly education) for decades. It's the foundation of progressive belief in "inclusion" and "equality". If every single person cannot understand something? Dumb it down until the mouth-breather in class or at work "gets it" too. By then it's garbage, but those at the top will give themselves a raise as they further undermine schools / their own companies.
It's what DEI was all about too, when stripped of the racial veneer.

For the record: conservatives DO believe in inclusion and equality too! Everyone should have a right to 'try out for the team'. (Not a guaranteed spot on it though.) Everyone should be given equal opportunity to succeed. (But not guaranteed equal (read: identical) success) & etc.
