I know everyone (rightfully) hates Reddit, but this is pretty sad, in my opinion. I happened to check in on this, and was pretty surprised with just how inactive it was.
Our own mods is in revolt against us, but we're still (much!) more active than our Reddit parent.
Their "hot" sorting goes back to nineteen days...ours goes back to one.
They absolutely strangled themselves. It didn't have to be this way.
Reddit is shit for a lot of other reasons now regardless of retarded mods, rules, and other shit. They keep redoing the site UI and killing off features that previously saw a lot of use, or simply worked better.
Their video embeds were atrocious. I simply gave up trying to watch any embedded vids there because the little blue orb would move along the play bar but the actual display wouldn't fucking change!
The Friends Tab no longer exists.
Opening images to new browsers can't be done without third party apps because attempting to do so just opens the same page again but now displaying the image you didn't want displayed that way in the first place!
Collapsing comment chains is like trying to throw invisible darts at an invisible board at times because sometimes clicking in alignment with a username works, but sometimes it doesn't!
Most of the changes were probably done because various retards thought it would "drive engagement" and make the site more money, which it probably never did ever anyway. The only reason it doesn't get supplanted in the same way DIGG did is because startups are strangled now so it's all but impossible without "fuck you money", servers that can within withstand DDOS abuse inside a sun, and other preventative measures that will tell various legislators to go pound sand. In other words like many pirate sites they end up being needing hosted on .su domains in Russia.
Did they bring back .compact? Because that's what finally stopped me using it, and I haven't bothered to check if it was rolled back so damage done by the stupid idea regardless.
When they killed .compact, I stopped using Reddit on mobile. I still browse a handful of subs intermittently on PC, but that's it. They're never recovering from all the shit they pulled between the 2016 and 2024 elections.
Haha, something similar to me while using the steam overlay to look up some answers and it's usually a reddit post depending on obscurity, but now it doesn't load the page and leaves a message saying to login (which of course doesn't/won't work). So now I go with the next suggestion and it won't be long before reddit loses even more traffic from other users in the same situation.
Honestly one of the worst things to happen to the Internet. A lot like twitter videos. You think they could make a video hosting service like imgur so ppl can link directly to vids but no, everything is in service of the subreddit format and forces you to go to their shitty communities to watch.
Yeah. KIA2 was dying due to the fact that they were pretty much under attack left and right since the start of the Biden years, Slowly withered away in a war of attrition.
KIA1 is still technically going strong, but there are several people who are still speaking out against the mods for their questionable policy choices even though they ostensibly care about the sub not getting nuked off the face of reddit, or simply because they accuse too many posts of being off topic. I have to wonder if the only reason reddit has not banned KIA from there at all is because it would start to give the appearance that they are shutting out people they don't want.
I have to wonder if the only reason reddit has not banned KIA from there at all is because it would start to give the appearance that they are shutting out people they don't want.
KIA1 cucks to the admins literally any time they ask. Banning them would likely prevent future people from even pretending to play along with their humiliation ritual, and, instead of getting the large, controlled group to self censor, break containment and their ability to easily watch and control the large mass of people.
Its a perfect trap, you get everyone to slowly cuck themselves to "stay alive" that eventually the cucking becomes their default state.
or simply because they accuse too many posts of being off topic
You have one faggot whose only contribution to KIA1 is post, "Errm, like, why should I care?!" on anything remotely off-topic. Even shit like the Oberlin bakery scandal doesn't escape his steely, autistic gaze.
David-me's cat had it planned out like this all along. He was mad for some pussy and that kitty knew it.
Once the management was removed from his fragile effeminate hands the real faggots got to work and tried to ass rape anyone with a braincell.
It was just early adoption tranny jannies trying to muster their own stance on an otherwise friendly place looking to do right.
They took the compassion of folk always willing to give an opinion a try and domestically abused everyone in their commune.
You know the types; Russian Deadpool and Contrapoints kind of folk.
I'm just curious as to how many young minds they recruited to Nazism through their antics. I'm sure a whole bunch of ConsumeProduct wouldn't have found their way there if it wasn't for the bozos on half-KiA flexing their tiny peckers as if they were anything other than there to clean up any sabotage by their kin in Antifa colours.
A few of them managed to break away. I don't know if they could ever save face but they show up here every now and then.
I wonder if they fantasise about any school shootings they might have inspired through their shoddy authoritarianism?
That subreddit dying was inevitable, but I would still argue from the opposite angle.
This place could have been even more active than it is now had AoV linked to here while the iron was hot (read as: while the jannies allowed links to this place in the first handful of weeks this place went up), instead of trying to court KIA1 mods in an ill-fated negotiation like a lovesick woman trying to win her abusive ex back.
Even KIA1 links to their own .win now, even if it is completely abandoned.
I’m certain I’ve had 100 accounts banned. I made a game of creating new ones and building up karma so that I could post. Reddit being a fragile-leftist bubble wasn’t what finally drove me away (honestly, that was part of the fun), what drove me away was the UI becoming nigh unusable. They went the way of digg!
Anyway, if you want a few tips:
(1) create your next account before the current one is banned. Basically you create it and let it sit dormant for a month or so. Helps get past the spam filters
(2) use a privacy-minded browser like brave, open an incognito window, and create your account on the WiFi of some random Starbucks.
When it’s finally time to use the account
(3) bump your home router so the new account isn’t used on the same residential IP as the old one. Clear your browser’s cache
(4) spend a couple of days farming karma. Pick a normie default sub like r/videos, sort by rising, and post the most lame, most banal jokes you can think of. They love dad jokes. They love pop culture references. You can literally get to 1000 karma just by finding comments with the word “hello” anywhere in them and quoting that word then replying “general kenobi”
I was usually above the karma threshold for any sub and back to shitposting within a day or two.
There's a reason I lurked here for months and then actually made an account and jumped. So many things were just nuked directly in the sub that things actually got discussed here instead.
That was years ago, I can only imagine things got way worse on reddit for KiA2, since nowadays I'm even shadowbanned from my state sub, where I only interacted in the way I do here, but filtered for sub 70IQ lefties.
Lots of regional subs use the shadow banning tactic. It's usually over minor things, such as 'not liking your attitude' or something equally banal. The worst censorship happens in these region-based subs: country, state, etc.
That makes sense. KIA2 was the split of recognizing that the problem was on the left and anyone who was able to discern that and keep digging became radicalized to the point where root cause analysis of issues could no longer be conducted on reddit without causing the mods to gag you because they were afraid of the whole sub getting nuked from orbit. Anyone who wasn't interested in kowtowing to the lefty orthodoxy eventually moved on and ended up here.
The sub kept getting brigaded, glowies were trying to get the sub banned (they're active here as well), and they were going after individual users trying to get them banned.
I abandoned it when the reddit faggotry got too strong in our own community to be worth even commenting on anything.
Said something that could be interpreted in a way they don't like? Rev up the NPC paragraphs about how wrong you are and how virtuous and most-anti-woke they are!
Also, I'd forgotten - or never even noticed - but I was directly quoted in a "TopMinds" brigade, back in the day.
LOL.
To be fair, it does go hard, if I do say so myself:
TuMOR killed reddit
It's strange to see Domitius appear active and approachable. Feels like something we haven't seen in years.
Dom's activity level inversely correlate with user activity. Hmm.
I know everyone (rightfully) hates Reddit, but this is pretty sad, in my opinion. I happened to check in on this, and was pretty surprised with just how inactive it was.

IT. DIDN'T. HAVE. TO. BE. THIS. WAY.

The UIs and interface are so bad that if OLD did not exist, I would never go back there again.
Meant to mention that, didn't they kill old.reddit and other things? I'm sure I saw a thread about it here some time ago.
They tried to, got a riot, brought it back and it still works.
Did they bring back .compact? Because that's what finally stopped me using it, and I haven't bothered to check if it was rolled back so damage done by the stupid idea regardless.

Not to mention that as of late I keep getting a message that blocks me when I visit the new website because it thinks I'm a VPN.
Blocking any possible VPN traffic is the only way they can actually keep people banned. They only want trannies using the site, fuck em.
Haha, something similar to me while using the steam overlay to look up some answers and it's usually a reddit post depending on obscurity, but now it doesn't load the page and leaves a message saying to login (which of course doesn't/won't work). The new board designs were probably designed to minimize server loads or something. Almost all of the comments are collapsed.

It's a controlled opposition group or something. Used for marketing research and other things.

"Not much" is the answer :p

Antonio gets the credit for pushing this place, but he acted like the whole thing was the summit at Appomattox.
I’ve had so many accounts on reddit banned - I think they are fingerprinting me. It’s too dangerous to subscribe to all my favorite subreddits.
Additionally kia2 doesn’t let new accounts post there so after the admins nuke one of my accounts I can’t go back on…

you know you can use old.reddit.com ?
Why would you want to do this?
You have to message the mods to be admitted.
Reddit staff probably delete anyone who posts there anyway lol.
Good thing we got this joint, though - causes those fuckwits to go absolutely LIVID I tell ya whut.
I think a lot of it has to do with me and my sharp and witty topics about dinosaurs and cammy white’s ass
Those are two separate post, right. There's not some post floating around about what dinosaur would pull off having Cammy's ass, is there?
>.>
<.<
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Reddit? I barely knew it!
Was worth leaving just to purge all the 'reddit speak' from infecting our communication. And it was bad enough back when this was thriving
It's sad. Used to get posts multiple times a day. Now it sometimes gets one. I still comment on shit though.
There's a reason I lurked here for months and then actually made an account and jumped. So many things were just nuked directly in the sub that things actually got discussed here instead.

Redundant
There's no way to safely exist there. It was inevitable.

well its plebbit
you can't have a non-kosher dissenting without your entire AND IP address being blacklisted from plebbit
i literally have to insert "old" instead of the www to access shit on reddit due to saying something naughty about blacks or trannies
I haven't posted on there for many years. Came here one day and completely abandoned reddit. Never looked back.
There's a kia2 on retarddit? Shows you how relevant that site is, I never even knew.
I get "Server Error" when trying to access the link.
I abandoned it when the reddit faggotry got too strong in our own community to be worth even commenting on anything.
