Why even bother with the camo fatigues if you are allowed to have vibrant colors elsewhere? Because that's what "military" is supposed to look like and you want to maintain the appearance/trappings of it instead of the fucking purpose?
Also, every vet I've ever spent time with described their time in the service as being literally owned by the government, with varying ranges of getting used for their body and controlled.
It says a lot about how pampered women are in the military that they even get consideration for these issues, instead of being told to get a buzzcut, their nails filed down to nothing, and then fucked off.
Men traditionally shaved their heads because the brass didn't want soldiers getting lice while they spend weeks in a rat-infested trench. It's a tacit admission that women are display-only and not serious fighters.
And stripping of individuality is great for both compliance and forcing people to see themselves as part of a "unit" instead of an independent operator. Both things that contribute to a more effective fighting force.
But women can only think about themselves and being given attention as themselves, which is why their very existence is always a detriment to unit cohesion and function even before you get into their actual actions.
I imagine its easy to catch hair in barbwire as well. Not to mention if its long enough to actually be in your eyes, well thats prolly not good when your in the middle of a firefight and your trying to shoot the enemy.
Just hold up a second guys, my hairtie fell out.
On a side note, I always assume they treat you like shit and call you maggot because they are conditioning you not to be distracted by words. Words may be a weapon to most snowflakes, but on the battlefield, words dont mean shit, bullets and bombs are the language of wars.
Also, they're outraged about hair regulations and tension headaches. You're in the military; just cut your dang hair, woman.
And personally I'd regulate no nail polish at all. Similar to federal worker buyout, let anyone who won't conform get an honorable discharge, and then fuck right off.
Oh, and don't we have regulations about presentations in uniform? All of these fucking "influencers" should be less than honorably discharged immediately. And that's being generous. If we wanted to stretch things, shitstirring could be considered giving aid and comfort to the enemy, right?
Some women thought the ruling made sense and supported the lack of bold nail polish choices.
A woman previously in the navy said, 'We had clear only. I never thought to question it. It was just part of the uniform like panty hose requirement.'
'I agree with the policy,' a former soldier said. 'Subdued or flesh toned was always the standard. When we serve, we give up certain abilities like individuality.'
'Lots of people can't wear nail varnish at work,' another explained.
'As it should be. All part of discipline and being a team,' a commenter claimed.
It's a different military, altogether. I have had the "joy" of working under someone who was a USAF E-7 in 2012. Their last official act was drumming a E-4 out because they could only type 38 words per minute.
I saw a soldier on Ft Lewis a while back who was active duty in civies rocking a manbun. I am amazed what the standards have become in 2025. We would get our asses chewed in the early 00s for not having creases on our cammies. Now everyone is dressing and acting like they are back on the block.
It's probably just a stock photo in the Daily Mail article.
But if that version of the fake press-on American manicure is still allowed, it immediately disqualifies any servicewoman that has one from claiming that their position is in any way vital and contributory to combat operations.

Sensible chuckle.

All this shit pisses me off.
Definitely a different Air Force than the one I remember

Wow! That is crazy. I’ve seen people in uniform at times and had to do a double take.

Grow up, chair force.
Or, you can get buzz cuts and NO nails like the rest of us.
