This is one of those times.
I can't get her to see that this whole 'save the poor illegals' is coming from the board room. It's so they can continue to pay them 60% less (Whether blue collar or H1B). It's so their 'workforce' can't get company benefits, healthcare, PTO, or union, or in many cases even go to a different company. It's to keep the wages supressed for the American citizens.
It's all decisions and propaganda from the very 'capitalists' she claims to oppose. She's blind on pharma too. Most other things she can be reasoned with.
Women live in their own reality. I never saw anyone enforce masks more relentlessly than women. It was always women barking at people to put on their masks or whatever else. And I still see women walking around with masks today. Once a woman has committed her mind to something, that's it. The facts or logic of it don't even exist to her. But maybe you can show her groups of illegals living (and eating and shitting) in a box truck to show her that nobody is being "saved" like that. They're slaves. Period.
She's cool on guns. Sees through a lot of the ESG/DEI in corporate media. Doesn't have that 'protect all criminals' mentality. Will laugh racist jokes. She's 'gender critical' at times, meaning she sees through a lot of tranny bullshit... UNTIL
Her weakness, images of crying people. In this case, illegals. Defeats any argument I can make.
Dore has idiotic opinions (government sucks, we should have government fix this!), but I can agree with him on basic reality. That's what I'd describe as a "reasonable lefty."
Someone you can disagree with that won't immediately jump to "oh, you're a Nazi."
He's also leftist-coded in that he criticizes Israel constantly similar to the Free Palestine crowd, but doesn't actually notice the Jews.
I used to watch Dore a bit. He has the Joe Rogan problem that he's a comedian that isn't actually funny (but surrounds himself with actual funny people like Kurt Metzger.).
Dore also only converses in preset talking points. He's not a good interviewer or a guest because he wants to monolog the same old bits he's ranted about a thousand times instead of letting his guests talk.
