I’ll be up in 4 hours to make the stuffing and ceremonial bloody Mary’s in honor of my dad that passed this year. Hope you all the best on this holiday and even if you’re not American, there’s nothing wrong with a good family day. Appreciate what you have and if you don’t have much remember at the least there’s god looking out for you and others willing to show you his grace. God bless and happy thanksgiving.

I'm making tacos and enchiladas this year. That way if my vegetarian cousin shows up, I can keep some ingredients aside to slap together a quesadilla or something.

I have to ask as I never think I tried it, how good is pumpkin pie, like if you get a really good one?

Made correctly the texture is very pleasing, akin to the texture of a thicker pudding, and the flavor is a combination of earthy and sweet, especially with a well made pastry crust to compliment it. Typically eaten topped with whipped cream although vanilla ice cream isn't uncommon.

I rather like it as it's a departure from the typical American holiday fare of excessive sugar or the bitter earwax taste of modern American chocolate. It's a simpler dish originating from a different time.

Funny enough I was describing the pie my stay at home wife made for me last time lol.

I think it's great, especially with whipped cream. People's opinions on it do seem to vary though. My sister's family wouldn't even be having it (she's a fan of apple and he's a fan of pecan) if my mother and I weren't coming over. You should try it. You can get one premade if you really don't want to bake, or you can use a premade crust and make the batter yourself if you want an easy way to mostly bake it yourself.

I had also never had it until my American wife introduced it to me, and I have to say, as someone who really doesn't like fruit pies, it is very good. I wasn't expecting to like it, but it doesn't taste like what you think it would. We put kind of an English twist on it by serving it with custard instead of whipped cream, and I think it pairs very well.

Pumpkin pie is amazing. One of my favorite pies.

Good Pumpkin Pie is fucking essential. It has a rich, creamy, flavor and texture with a hint of cinnamon for a kick, and a warm earthy pumpkin flavor.

But that means you went to a farmer's market and got their pie, and not whatever was being sold at Walmart.

Similar to Cheesecake, the high-end of such cakes/pies is shockingly good.

Happy Thanksgiving! Pie looks great! I’ll be heading over to help my mom cook, and my dad will be smoking a turkey as well.
