Orz are frumple that more bubbles are not being happy campers! It makes us want to dancing!
The Androsynth have left the chat forever.
This game is old. Like, early 2000's old.
And Star Control 2, the game it basically is, is from the early 90's.
I loved playing this but you need to understand something when you play this. It's still the 90's game. There are no arrows telling you where to go, there's no indicators or hot tips. You play this game with a notebook and when someone says something interesting, you write it down. You have to listen to everything all the NPC's say (and the voice acting is superb) and take everything in because you're not going to be led by the hand.
In this game, if you fuck up, the universe will be doomed forever and you will have to start the game all over again because you may realize the root of your fuckup was hours ago.
This is 90's DOS PC game hardcore, the only thing it doesn't have is copy-protection manuals requiring you to enter words from the game manual.
I honestly don't mind these sorts of games if they control well, I honestly wish more games made you write stuff down for later reference.
Or the spiral wheel!
In reflective paper so you can't photocopy it!
The copy protection it previously had was it made you enter names from a star map poster that came with the game
Fine I'll add it to my library.
is there nice girl butt in it?
Wait until you find the Syreen.
No, but the Syreen would fill a similar role.
I must have picked it up when you or someone else recced it before. The name switch bamboozled me a bit when I doublechecked it on the store, because it's already in my library under 'Free Stars'. Thanks for the reminder.
How does this compare to the newer version of Star Control Origins? I have that one as well.
Different games. There was a big legal battle between the original creators and the company that bought the IP in bankruptcy of their publisher decades back. The end result is they cant use the name Star Control and the new developers can't use most of the setting of the original.
Ah, that explains why the new game has completely different aliens. Gotcha.
Thanks!
Great game!
