The women I see actually in these sports that call it out number in the fractions of a percent it seems like. If they want to stand up for themselves, then I'll support them. If they bend over backwards to suck her penis, then it's on them.
They are by nature inherently risk aversive. Pioneers by concept have always been men because they not only had less to lose in the endeavour, but also more to gain coming back as the "conquering hero" who found some new thing that will benefit the local tribe/village/etc and now gets lots of potential mates lining up to literally jump on his massive... reputation. But that's the point, finding a mate who can demonstrate physical/mental capability that means good potential offspring.
Men were also far more physically capable at braving hazardous terrain and had fewer biological drawbacks such as not "suddenly" finding themselves pregnant.
However in extremely safe periods of history like now, at least in certain parts of the world, social activists want to champion causes like "true equality" when the concept will never, ever exist simply due to the dimorphic biology of pretty much every living animal on the planet. So you have women trying to be those pioneers of yore, when there's nothing left to discover. So instead they try to do the same journey but under far safer conditions, with better supplies, and possibly most importantly foresight just where they are going and what perils may be ahead of them. It's a vastly different journey literally wandering off into the wilderness to explore when compared to leaving your GPS detailed basecamp to travel a specific distance in a specific direction and knowing what landmarks you need to spot to make sure you're not going the wrong way. Because all that information was already worked out by the men who made the journey beforehand, including many who probably died while making it and weren't the ones to end up in the history books like the lucky few who made it back.

Women never rock the boat.
