For the record, the last sick day I took was in 2018. I had a kidney stone and missed 1.5 days of work.
I understand that according to Matt Walsh I should feel embarrassed about that, but at least he doesn't think it makes me demonic. Like he does when I play a video game.
The whole "sick note" industry is such a waste of everyone's time and resources as well.
Sick notes should be tiered based on who initiated the request.
The first would be the current basic "sick note" initiated by the patient or employer which essentially states "This patient has paid me 20$ and claims to me that they are ill".
The second would be doctor initiated and equivalent to having your driver's license suspended. "I have diagnosed this patient personally and commanded them to remain home from work for X amount of time. Dear Lord, may God help this man".
We just went through four years of people taking off five straight days - fully paid - because they claimed they tested positive on a faulty over-the-counter test for an illness with no symptoms.
But the companies they work for stole hundreds of billions in PPE funds from all of us, so fuck ‘em.

The embarrassment stems from most adults taking a sick day when they're hung over or overslept and it's too late to get to work on time.
Or as a vacation day. Oh you're sick the two days before your vacation starts? Huh.
Everybody knows what you're doing and that's embarrassing.
A sick day when you actually are sick or saw a doctor is the opposite of embarrassing, but odds are that's not why somebody is out.
