Thank you for this! A lot of people, like us on this board, have known Wikipedia is ideologically captured for a long time. But something like this is great to break it down for the normies!
And how exactly is this article going to reach "the normies"?
People just still don't get it. The left controls what the disinterested masses in the middle see/hear. The right has next to zero ability to reach those people.
Look. The article's great. No one is going to see it, though.
I will second this. The right seems to have this idea that any day some article, book, YouTube documentary is going to be a massive Uno reversal card while the left will continue to lie with a straight face. The right has convinced themselves some smoking gun is going to instantly dismantle the left and the public is just going to snap out of the trance it’s in.
Straight up this.
I see it all the damn time. "We should be campaigning on so-and-so's record!", "We should be pointing out x to the public!", "Look at how they got caught in a lie! We should be hammering their hypocrisy!", etc. The left laughs their asses off at these "attacks", because they have no teeth.
The right has next to zero ability to reach the politically disinterested people in the middle (What is left? You've got maybe Joe Rogan? And what a surprise, who have they been going after lately...). All the stuff the right says either only gets to people already firmly on the right, or - if it reaches the people in the middle at all - is filtered through the leftist propaganda system.
Meanwhile, the entire goddamn country (and basically every other western country, as well) goes through an education system that has been setup to indoctrinate everyone's kids into a leftist mindset, and - on top of that - everyone is constantly beset by near endless amounts of propaganda and narrative-shaping solely designed to make the left look good, and the right look bad. No, not designed to just make the right look bad, but to equate them to Nazis, and fascists - designed to put enormous amounts of pressure on not just "the normies", but on the young, and vulnerable youth to never associate themselves with anything that comes out of the right, as that gets you labelled, and unpersonned.
Look at fucking England the other day, as just one small example. I was in the living room watching some YT while I was lifting weights (via a PS5 hooked up to the TV), and near the entire "Breaking News" ribbon was absolutely filled with clips from the media railing about how "the FAR RIGHT" was rioting, and implying how there was absolutely zero reason any white person in England had any right to be upset, or question anything. Seriously - "Far fight!", "Far right!", "Far right!". "DO NOT EMPATHIZE OR EVEN HEAR WHAT THEY MIGHT BE SAYING, CITIZEN! IF ONE DID THAT, THEY TOO WOULD BE A FAR RIGHT NAZI!" Seriously - every single goddamn clip, and that's just this one story. They do it with literally everything.
This is what I'm (we're) talking about. They have every advantage possible available to them. You get it served up to you on YouTube. Your searches are biased towards it. You see it all over every social discussion site (Reddit, Facebook, etc). Apple/Google serves it up to your phones via their news push-notifications. Microsoft sends it to your desktop via their news thing in the taskbar. Wikipedia is totally gamed to all hell with their (and ONLY their) versions of all of history. Any "fact-checking" site is full of it. For the average person, it is inescapable. The right has nothing even approaching 1% of this level of power.
Nothing is ever going to change, no amount of articles by right-wing affiliated sites, no amount of pointing out the lies, pointing out the hypocrisy, is ever going to matter, until something is done to break the left's indoctrination/propaganda system. People need to be extremely involved in monitoring their kids, and informing/raising them in a way that they are not susceptible to this system. It is possible. I live in fucking California, and I've managed to do it with my son. People need to do that, they need to be (skillfully, not bluntly) always working on their friends to gently show them the system, and how it works. People need to (online, where you don't have to be subtle/gentle) constantly rail against this system. Their system needs to be under constant attack.
If people don't start taking it extremely fucking serious - and not laughing it off (like the previous generations did with leftists in the colleges...) with, "No one care about the media. Hur, hur hur!", "It's just some stupid jannie on reddit shaping the narrative on his default sub! Like *that * is going to effect the election! Hur hur hur!", the west is gone. They are going keep indoctrinating, and keep injecting immigrants (who don't share the west's views, but do have a shitload of kids) into all of our countries, until there are too few of us left to put up any sort of resistance.
Two years ago, the CBC (Canada's runt of an equivalent to the BBC) had newscasters saying the exact same lines while live footage of militarized police played over their shoulders with unarmed truck drivers surrendered on the ground being beaten over and over with rifle butts.
