That's not an insult, when that's literally what it is.

I do wish Eric success with his franchise, but even I have to say that trailer was awful.

I don't think people were expecting much, considering it's just a short live-action trailer advertising a new comic book. But even those expectations were too high for what they got. Hopefully the readers at least enjoy the comic.
