I just thought it was amusing, I guess. Three hours of lectures a week, theoretically about marine mammals, but I would say... 80% of the course content is about ideology, and "saving the planet"...
This is core. Can't avoid it. But it is insane to me that the Head of School, the person who supervises most of my courses, is so ideologically compromised that she essentially runs (STEM) courses like this as her personal ideological crusade...
Mid-30s woman, here. Looks exactly like you would expect. And she calls herself "old", in class, because of course she does...
That doesn't exactly reflect well on the University, I would have thought.
But anyway, I'm just there to get through this thing, and get my piece of paper, but it's still... Disappointing, I guess, that this is the quality of education I am dealing with.
This same moron has just decided to "do away with" exams, because it is "too hard" to design an exam where students can't just use the internet to find the answers, apparently...
Because apparently the entire concept of closed-book, in-person exams is just "unacceptable" to these people, these days..?
Wow...
What a fucking nightmare.
How the fuck can courses still be accredited, without some sort of final exam..?? Oh man, I can't believe how bad this has become...
"Accessibility" is being used as an excuse to refuse to return to in-person exams, now, post-Covid... That is insane to me. It really is...
Because apparently my fellow students "can't cope" with fucking exams, anymore. Scary...
Here's a gem of a slide:
And I quote:
Wow.
Ahh, so yet another adherent of eco-feudalism...
