Davies was the showrunner for Dr Who in its golden era of 2005-2010 with Christopher Eccleston then David Tennant. This is widely considered to be the peak of the show.
Davies is a literal faggot, but he had enough respect for Dr Who to keep his faggotry out of it. In his spinoff show, Torchwood, he loaded it full of faggotry. It just goes to show that faggots will behave themselves if the incentive structure keeps them in line.
Then Moffat took over in 2010 when Matt Smith became the Dr. The show was still decent but noticeably declined. I liked Karen Gillan. I did not like the pivot to River Song. She was always lame. Then Moffat invented the world fucking character in Dr Who thus far: Clara Oswald. He was such a fucking simp for Clara and it was all over the scripts. She was an insufferable Mary Sue, and every episode was like a love letter to her. It was so fucking cringe. She completely ruined the show for me. She took over the show and it became all about her. And they kept her around for 3 seasons, through 2016.
It's got to get better, right?
THEN.
Chris Chibnall ran Dr Who into the fucking GROUND. He slathered himself in canola oiled, raped it, then shat on it to death.
He turned the Doctor into a Karen, then a fat black woman. He totally ruined the Dr's origin and the whole plot of the setting. He just assfucked the whole thing.
ratings dropped by like 30-50% so they finally replaced him and brought back Davies & Tennant.
Reminder that along with Supernatural and Sherlock, the modern Doctor Who has one of the most rabid fanbases to the point that "Superwholock" is a coined term that refers to:
A fuckin terrifying fandom. If anyone mentions it, run. Superwholock is the fandom of three television series: Supernatural, Doctor Who, and Sherlock. It’s like 85% of Tumblr’s content.
I see there are a couple of other recent stories about celebrities bemoaning current trends or tastes. Along with that Kevin Feig story posted last week:
Sean Penn on a recent Bill Maher podcast:
I was realizing the contradiction in what was happening outside with the protestors and a few inside, and when I came out, I think the first thing I said, which I think was a fair observation, ‘Were that film[ed] today, I couldn’t play that part,’ and the same people who two minutes before were applauding ‘Milk’ were thinking ‘f**k him’ about me too. Suddenly, we’re hardwired into acceptance.
If you look at the industry right now… there are movies that feel incestuous, they’re just masturbatory… It’s just Hollywood talking to themselves[…] And then there are movies where they’re saying: the audience is dumb so we’re going to take all the soul out and we’re just going to do it by numbers […] These are signs of complete dysfunction.”
Of course their scripts were rubbish, under Davies' direction they were forced to write Tumblr fan fiction about a 'black gay doctor' who doubles as the pronoun police.
It’s also dumb, because Jodie’s doctor was expressly a lesbian, which fits with the previous NuWho doctors all liking human women I guess (sexuality carries through regenerations, then?), but now we expressly have a gay, black doctor, as you say, which puts paid to that (their whole justification for making Jodie lezzo)… Eugh.
Anything for some points. Anything. Even if it is self-contradictory…
To be fair… Russ-T was woke as fuck even before woke took off…
Like, enormously so.
Stopped clock, and such.

And RTD helped create and foster it.
