When Crowder left Blaze, DW offered him a shitty contract that gave them control over pretty much everything plus huge finanical penalties if Big Tech censored him- could drop his "lucrative" deal to like 5% of what was offered, and that's the total money they were given to produce his show and play everyone involved.
Crowder did a video protecting DW's identity while criticising Big Con contracts (he even said this was standard among Big Con even if people did figure out who), DW's CEO did a 1 hr video trying to justify the contract, then they sicced every DW host onto Crowder- Candace Owens was just nasty calling Crowder a grifter (lol, takes one to know one), his audience stupid, etc while Matt Walsh licked all the DW choad.
Then Crowder released a clip of a phone call w/ DW CEO (a bad move IMO) yesterday while Ownens was on Beanie Man attacking Crowder left and right.
In general, releasing a private convo (especially a generally friendly one) isn't a good idea and especially releasing a small clip like that.
I don't have issue with him recording the call, this wasn't just a friendly chat between pals- and if Boring had given some a smoking gun GOTCHA moment that really exposed him then you could justify it. But I don't think him jokingly say "wage slave" was it.
To be fair, I highly doubt they're friends. They're more like "friends". I would've done exactly what Crowder did. At that the level of play, with the amount of money involved, with the insane contract he was offered, and with Daily Wire's and Ben Shapiro's reputation, if it were me, I absolutely would've recorded all of the conversations with them. A genuine person records a conversation when they feel that the other side might lie about what was said. There've been lots of stories the last few years of right wingers who've done interviews with the MSM, who release a ridiculously edited version of the interview to paint the right winger in the worst light, and the right winger saves themselves only because they had the wherewithal to recorded it, and released it to reveal the whole truth. This is also exactly what Project Veritas does to get their content. They get people comfortable, and record what they say.
Our side has been burned far too many times to rely on trust. We've known for a while now that many on our side are fake, and are Uniparty/ConInc./RINO/globalist pieces of shit, who are intentionally setting themselves up as traps for normie right wingers, who would otherwise move much further right, if not for the false choice and half truth they're presented with.
Predatory people deserve to be outed. Predatory practices deserve to be criticized. All of it should be shared openly, so everyone knows who those people are and what they do.
The one fair criticism of Crowder that I've heard is that this is all PR by him, because Daily Wire didn't agree to his counter offer, and so Crowder is only releasing this all now, after the fact, because he probably wants to set up his own independent company. However, contrary to this criticism, and to be fair to Crowder, he didn't tell anyone who this predatory company was. The Daily Wire were stupid and outed themselves.
What was the drama?
I did not follow it since I stop watching them some time ago.

thank you for the summary. why do you think it was a bad move to release the phone call?
