GoFundMe claiming to "protect artists from AI technology" is actually a scheme to protect IP law on behalf of corporations like Disney (twitter.com)

Micky Mouse was going to become public ip in what, 2024? Anyone who knows anything knew something major was going to get passed in the next year.

Just when you think things can't get more retarded...they do.

Also, I called this sort of nonsense.

Only the retarded would look at the backlash at AI art and see it as anything but inorganic garbage.

Hold the presses, anyone with a GPU can make art now!

Oh wait, phones have been able to apply filters and other crap for like 5 years now and nobody petitioned to ban that!

I seriously don't get it. Do you have so little confidence in you talent that you don't think you can compete? Just do art streams or whatever. Adapt, don't cry. Nobody cares about your struggles in your "career"

Copy and paste of a somewhat sensible tweet about it that I saw:

They don't want companies to appropriate their artworks so they can market and distribute their skills for commercial gain. If you were to reference or study an artist, the artist would be flattered more than anything. It's not the same and I'm tired of this argument.

A company learning from their work and "you" in their example are the same thing. Most people including "you" want to profit off their own talents. That's the same as the company will hiring "you" for commercial gain.

That's retarded. I promise you no company is stealing your art, they pay people to do that.

You're not important enough for companies to rip off your art, I promise.
