So where are the Indiana authorities in all of this?
They've just allowed California cops to harass, arrest, intimidate and interfere with one their citizens for what appears to be the crime of frustrating a Californian mad that, unsurprisingly, work on his car stopped when payments stopped.
How is that tolerable? Is it view of the Indiana police that Californians have primacy over Indianans?
The Indiana authorities should be irate over this, and yet it sounds like they barely care.
Even if this rises to the level of criminal enforcement - which it clearly doesn't, but let's disregard that for a moment - the correct approach is a Federal-level investigation. Not four dudes from San Mateo rocking up to some random town in Indiana and declaring that it's subject to California law now.
They let them use the police local police station for this. Indiana Politicians and California Politicians have a real tight relationship. When I was exiled to that shithole state, the Indianapolis Star would print big headlines about how almost the entire legilislative body and their families/staff were on 'retreat' or 'learning missions' or 'exploring fiscal deals' in California, every year, without fail.
Might be more amusing to call your local PD and tell them you have somebody impersonating law enforcement on your doorstep. Police officers don't historically take kindly to that.
I was wondering when this was going to start happening. DAs that don’t prosecute real crime won’t stop there, they will prosecute/persecute anyone who doesn’t serve them.
But they didn’t want the car. Instead, they took Racop to jail for an hour, froze his bank account, got a warrant for his email and contacts, and charged him (in California) with felonies of Obtaining Money by False Pretenses and Diversion of Construction Funds.
When asked what changed, San Mateo County Deputy District Attorney Marie McLaughlin said, “Additional investigation, the detectives were able to obtain search warrants and obtain additional evidence.”
“The aim is to have the attorney general conduct an investigation,” Board of Supervisors President Don Horsely said. “But we also know that that takes a long time. And so we decided that we would also do our own independent investigation at the same time.”
This is what happens in communism, congrats California you have finally achieved it! Everyone involved in allowing those warrants will never see any punishment or even be known publicly for their their crimes in all likelihood.
Just wait for California imposing taxes upon the other states. Got to prop up that California welfare system somehow, especially now that the Californian diaspora is scattering itself throughout the rest of the country...
Since it's local I've been kind of following it. It's keeps getting weirder.
The San Mateo sheriff spent six figures sending a bunch of men to Indiana as a favor to a butt-hurt rich DNC donor. They arrested a pastor (who also builds batmobiles) and froze all his accounts by telling the banks that he was a drug dealer. The DA originally copped a "not me - this is bad" hot take for the news cameras but it turns out he may be dirty and complicit as well.

Yeah this is malicious prosecution and possibly abuse of process. Dude needs to get a good lawyer and take a chunk of California's taxes
federal should have no policing capabilities.
the correct path is:
-california builds its case
-forwards it to indiana for pickup and extradition
-indiana drops the obvious faggot nonsense

Wtf is an Indianas?
Hoosiers. People from Indiana are called Hoosiers.
And I guarantee you there are plenty of Hoosiers irate at this happening.

If they made it all the way to my state I'd consider going with them just to reward their effort

So out-of-state cops were able to obtain search warrants? In Indiana through an Indiana judge? If so, that judge needs to be disbarred and impeached.
and convicted.
Literally malicious prosecution and abuse of process
... OK, so are there other laws Californian imperial forces wish to impose upon other states?
Of course!
All of them. And a few they don't need to follow themselves, too.

Horrifying. I bet this is the only place I hear about it. Meanwhile a Florida fireman’s fucking tweets are a National story for like multiple days

Fun times.
This goes straight past Batman into Punisher territory.
