Giving the game to Aspyr was always a mistake. Maybe they're particularly attached to it due to making ports, or maybe Embracer wants to turn them into more of a full-fledged studio, but assigning what has been primarily a porting studio the task of creating a massive AAA game is a recipe for failure.
That Embracer didn't realize that in the first place and it has taken them so long to discover it reflects the lumbering behemoth that is their corporate structure. These companies think they can just buy up and use publishers and developers like they're standardized units of work when in reality they all have their own cultures and strengths and weaknesses.
