Title is incorrect. You can claim it as a dependent and then go have an abortion in another state.

I'd like to think they'd close that loophole.

Last month, a pregnant Texas woman ticketed for driving in the HOV lane alone argued that her fetus counted as a person under the state’s abortion ban.

Lol. I've got to say, that was a nice try. Too bad it wasn't twins then she could have claimed she, herself, was an HOV.

Always the carrot, never the stick.

Lock up women who seek abortions like you do with people who seek assassins. Don't steal money from us to pay them to have common decency.

What next? Pay murderers not to murder? Pay Radical Islamists not to blow people up? Pay girls not to accuse random boys of rape? Pay teachers not to push boys into castrating themselves?

Pay murderers not to murder?

That's not far off, if it's not here already. I've definitely read articles somewhere making the argument, "Well, criminals don't commit crimes as much if we give them money, so we should have a tax-funded program to give money to convicted criminals to reduce crime."

It is indeed already here, at least on a very limited scale. I think it's San Francisco (of course), as well as a few other big Democrat cities (but I repeat myself), who pay a small number of criminals not to murder. I think SF is paying one or two dozen gangsters to not murder anyone each month.

Always the carrot, never the stick.

Never? It took me all of 7 seconds to discover that Georgia has a 6 week abortion ban.

Lock up women who seek abortions like you do with people who seek assassins.

People active on Tinder?

What next? Pay murderers not to murder?

If you believe that a fetus is a human, and you do, why exactly are you outraged, outraged that they are now considered humans for tax purposes?

Not one of these states has committed to holding the woman accountable for seeking it. Only the provider. By that logic, someone can hire a hitman to take out their shitty ex-wife so they don't have to pay alimony, and only the hitman would go to jail. No...wait, because that doesn't help women, the law applies correctly.

I don't get your joke.

Because bribing people to not murder children is a joke.

Not one of these states has committed to holding the woman accountable for seeking it.

It's never enough for you? What a shock!

Only the provider. By that logic, someone can hire a hitman to take out their shitty ex-wife so they don't have to pay alimony, and only the hitman would go to jail.

It appears that the states have a good deal more sense and see the differences.

I don't get your joke.

Was it a joke? Women are professional assassins trying to kill you, innit?

Because bribing people to not murder children is a joke.

So the tax credit for dependents is also a bribe to not murder your kids?

I think I'm being restrained, considering women wanted abortion post-birth and a complete halt on investigations into dead babies.

So the tax credit for dependents is also a bribe to not murder your kids?

No, it's to help with the living expenses of the child. I'm not sure what living expenses a fucking fetus has.

I think I'm being restrained

Check court records for a restraining order against ya.

considering women wanted abortion post-birth

I call BS. Why don't you produce a poll showing that 'women' want this.

No, it's to help with the living expenses of the child. I'm not sure what living expenses a fucking fetus has.

Pregnancy and childbirth is quite expensive in the US, or so I hear.

Don't steal money from us to pay them to have common decency.

They're going to be stealing money either way. A lot of taxes go into paying for unwanted children. A lot of taxes also go into paying for prisoners.

Money shouldn't be a factor in these debates since having a kid is waaaay more expensive than not having one and keeping someone jailed is waaaay more expensive than a payment of a few thousand bucks.
