I was watching a show on Prime (an old one of course since they have a good classic library) and there was a trailer for a new movie on Prime about a guy falling in love with a "trans woman" aka dude who thinks he is a girl.
Whenever my dad sees stuff like this he always says "who is clamoring for this?". You will never convince me that there is a substantial market that wants to see stuff like this. I've been saying for a while that execs need to stop listening to what Eric July calls "weirdos on twitter".
The downfall of so much entertainment/hobbies starts with ignoring your main demographic. Comic book companies for some reason thought there was an untapped market of women who will buy comic books (and not bothering to see that Manga has something for everyone). Not women who enjoy them, but women who openly hate them, and they get the jobs in the industry. Similar to video games, and one of the dumbest examples would be Hallmark. They have gone all in on lgbt representation. The former CEO started GAC which he described as a channel for faith based content and he is getting attacked for "anti-lgbt" sentiments, but he is simply understanding who his market is.
I think there is an audience for those who want heavy lgbt content and you could make a streaming service or channel, but for some reason there is an insistence that across the board we all have to watch that. I think Warehouse 13 is one of the best examples of a gay character because it only comes up when it is relevant, but at this point with all the over saturation people are probably just fed up with lgbt, black, female, or hispanic/immigration stories.
Sorry for the rant but I am so tired of this. I guess at this point there needs to be parallel economy. I am a more traditional minded Christian so I guess I'll just do my best to support that content. The value of a streaming service for me depends on how much older stuff it has. I guess I can start my own streaming service and promise no shows made after 2010.

They're trying to build a world in which you will consume the media, because otherwise all the interlinked systems of governance, finance and education will ostracise you and seize everything you have. A world in which, even if you didn't get the message that your role is to die out gracefully and leave everything you own to the freshly-imported population, your children will not be allowed to chance to grow up into anybody who might have children of their own.
If you accept this dystopia as the inexorable march of progress, getting a head-start so that you can keep competitors out is only sensible.
They claim they hate it because it is not made for them specifically and needs to change. This however is no indication that they know how to change it or if those changes increase viewership.
Their entire philosophy contradicts itself:
They claim that target demographic is bad because they need to make products for everyone but at the same time exclude conservatives and Christians.
They claim people needs to see themselves in the media to be able to enjoy it but at the same time they want to exclude men from it and then call them misogynists or racists for not watching /reading/ playing their products. I say men because I see this as the most predominant but it also applied to straight or white people.
Anyone who does not agree with their changes and pandering are called bigots but they are the most intolerant of them all.

No one is genuinely calling for this, but there are packs of people that are calling for this. Yes, they are Twitter Weirdos, but what they specifically are, are Leftist Hipsters that are Useful Idiots for Leftists. These people do buy certain Leftist oriented products, or products with such signaling, for a period of time before their Woke Capital masters re-direct their attention onto something else.
The reason the "Woke Capital" (what are effectively Fabian Socialists, Corporatists, or the "Ethical Corporate Citizens" of the 1970's) uses these populations is because they are highly manipulatable in responding to specific triggers that call them into action. If a competitor begins to step out of line and challenge the power of the oligopoly, the modern mechanism is to hit them with Social Justice harassment campaigns over some created non-troversey, that causes them to build or expand a Social Justice department (or DIE initiative) in their own corporation, giving them millions of dollars in bureaucratic expense that they can't otherwise afford.
I've previously referred to this as the Social Justice Racket, of which the Useful Idiot hipsters are one part of. Government, Industry heads, and Financiers are all working together to form a DIE protection racket which can summon the Useful Idiots as a weapon to harass and intimidate these corproations. By forcing them to accept DIE within their HR and PR departments, both of those departments actually expand the racket, and can be weaponized internally against enemy corporations as a form of subversion or corporate demoralization by distracting leadership, stalling programs, ballooning costs, etc. All of this is financed by your tax dollars and your pensions funds through government and finance of the Social Justice Racket that maintains the power of already dominant corporations like HSBC, Bank of America, Microsoft, Amazon, Google, MasterCard, etc.
The biggest threat comes from HR & PR which will actively attack their own company and leadership to solidify their own control over a corporation as a rogue department, as well as use the attacks on their own company to acquire positions at powerful companies that asked them to launch the attack in the first place in an act of corporate sabotage.
This kind of subterfuge isn't new for corporate goliaths, and if you think it is, you should look into the war that Mars & Hershey's engaged in over introducing Kinder Toys/Kinder Joys into the US, which involved recruiting CIA agents on both sides to engage in corporate espionage & sabotage at the cost of millions of dollars including lawfare and planting stories in the press.
The Social Justice Racket is more of an economy wide protection racket, as a lot of it's support comes from Fabian Socialist organizations seeking to use the racket to control populations.
In the end the Useful Idiots are hipster consumers that can be called upon to unthinkingly adopt and embrace certain products under the right conditions, but they have to be summoned and perpetually kept moving, as the Useful Idiots themselves are in their own Social Justice Racket, desperate to maintain social status by aligning themselves with sociopaths & abusers that control people within their orbits, as well as trying to get ahead of the next big issue to be a particularly valuable thought leader on the next "thing".
The problem is that this bubble is actually beginning to destroy itself because the racket is spiraling out of control at an exponential speed, and it's power relies on expansion as promised political positions to loyalists can only be guaranteed by perpetual growth. If that growth stops, the whole bubble pops all at the same time and the racket dies. The Useful Idiots are now so frenetic and destructive that they are effectively a Doomsday Machine, deconstructing and destroying almost everything in their path, while never really being able to stop. Simultaneously, the destruction is still useful, so different woke corporations are still going to use that destruction as a weapon, which only makes the exponential destruction worse.
On top of that, there's a huge problem of everyone believing their own lies. HR & PR have thousands of studies that explicitly state that diversity guarantees increased profits, and that all young people explicitly are seeking only DIE content, and that if you don't accept DIE, you will lose the entire market. The started ideological capture by directly targeting executives of corporations with these initiatives first, in a top down approach. The more executives that believe it, rather than use it cynically, the more the corporations themselves start behaving like the Useful Idiots (because they are). "Just don't buy our product."
So yes, key people are cynically asking for these things, not because these things matter, but because the Social Justice Racket needs to expand, or it dies.

I wish that were the case, frankly. It would actually be better. It's far closer to National Socialism, as the political party is actually controlling the corporation, investors, union, and government.
I'll actually agree with you. It was corporate socialism, but something aimed it towards national socialism. People went into these businesses to specifically make them change to fit the national view.

Obviously that had to get and got replaced with "she done already had her'ses." (your guess is as good as mine as to what that means) Then for bumpers they'd play "Ru Paul's Drag Race, may the best woman win" which got changed to "may the best drag queen win" despite few of them were women in the first place and it still says "queen" anyway.
