"In lieu of affordable electricity, the utility company E.ON, which shut down one those German nuclear power plants, sent out 30,000 pairs of socks to encourage people to get by with less power and heat." (twitter.com)

I wish some G*rman would explain to me in plain terms just what the fuck possesed you people to do what you did with an overwhelming popular support for that. It's so completely beyond my any comprehension, especially since you apparently decided to do so before even Fukushima. Are you just so collectively psychotic to enthusiastically embrace any new extremism, be it religious, political or any other?

24/7 propaganda. The government runs most of the news media and pays off the rest. The education system, all public institutions, sports associations, private clubs, unions, media, professional organizations, etc have all been subverted.

I don't say it lightly when I say we have a new Gleichschaltung, except this time it's not brown, it's red-green.

The apex of the Nazification of Germany was in the resolutions approved during the Nuremberg Rally of 1935, when the symbols of the Nazi Party and the State were fused

I completely agree.

Every BLM Flag is a Swastika

The Frankfurt School's primary target was the German people themselves.

The "De-Nazification" programs where a massive central effort to attack the minds of Germans because the Frankfurt socialists asserted that the German mind was intrinsically authoritarian and totalitarian; and the only way to combat this was to use massive propaganda efforts through a totalitarian and authoritarian system to form an absolutely homogeneous narrative through manipulating education, political affiliation, having total control over the media, controlling people's employment through licencing and training, ect, ect.

It was so bad that the American Army was actually burning books that the Frankfurt School and their advisers had identified could lead to a resurgence of Nazism; or were "too ideological".

The Frankfurt School prized itself on developing Critical Theory which would prevent runaway ideological possession, by being socialists who identified capitalism as inherently immoral and eradicating ideological zealotry with ideological zealotry in the form of Critical Theory. And obviously, Socialists were not ideological zealots because socialism is super rational and logical.

Now, combine this with the fact that Germans, (thanks to what I would argue is the result of the trauma of the 30 Years War, Prussian cultural dominance, and the success of German Unification) are a highly collectivist people already. The Denazification programs and the Frankfurt School's cultural control over West Germany combine with German collectivism to create a mentality of absolute obedience to authoritarian propaganda, which is promoting (at this point) open self-hatred, along with whatever pet projects any Leftist narrative needs constructing.

You can bet your ass that the Soviet "Peace War" efforts focused on spreading fear of Nuclear War across the West, and unilateral nuclear disarmament, would have had a major target in West Germany. In the event of a Soviet Invasion, the Soviets planned to effectively incinerate West Germany, because it would have been too difficult to fight through, and there is a natural choke point in West Germany where Russian tanks would have to flow through in order to get to Western Europe very quickly before NATO could respond. (This is actually the specific reason why the A-10 Warthog exists: small arms resistant, close-air support, anti-tank, fixed-wing, heavy firepower that can be kept perpetually firing on Soviet tank formations in a round-the-clock sortie campaign).

So, you've got a highly collectivist people, who having been scared by being the victims of the 30 Years War, and realized that safety only came from Prussian discipline and aggression, are completely further collectivized into any Leftist narrative that is constructed, particularly one that was also heavily supported by Soviet Intelligence efforts. Don't think for a minute the Russians wouldn't keep up the propaganda to make Germans dependent on GazProm, and that the Chinese wouldn't be happy to fund propaganda that makes Germany buy more Chinese batteries.

iirc they even burned just normal run of the mill training regimen manuals because they feared any actual bodily discipline might also lead to a resurgence of national socialism - they didn't even attempt to copy the stuff and just remove the german references

fun little tidbit there

The A-10 missions against tank columns were excepted to be suicidal (the pilots knew they wouldn't return) and NATO's own plans for a "limited nuclear war" involved striking every Polish city on the Wisła (Vistula).

Seems pretty reasonable.

Also, one interesting note is that I focused on West Germany. The reason the AfD is popular in East Germany is because the East Germans weren't exposed to Frankfurt indoctrination that was part of "The New Left". The East Germans were exposed to the tactics of "The Old Left", and a lot were just murdered.

The result is that the East was less subverted and authoritarian than the West is.

Being miserable gives them a sense of purpose.

Having 6 different recycle bins with separate bins for colored and clear glass (both worthless) and composting, carbon tax making everybody live like misers, solar roof that its your duty to clean to get that extra 1% because power is 40c/kWh, reusable grocery bags, etc.

All these things are rituals like Muslims having to pray every few hours designed to not give you any rest or time to contemplate or to be free, filling up your life with constant reminders to mindlessly follow the rules.

I thank the government every day for banning plastic grocery bags, forcing me to buy actual single-use bags to put the trash.

We are ruled by muppets who take advice from idiots posing as "experts", and globalists.

My county just added a 5c/bag tax so in response I stopped recycling entirely.

Because fuck them.

That doesn't seem like a good response to me. I recycle everything that's worth recycyling; I don't do it because the government wants me to, I do it because I grew up piss poor, raised by people who grew up even piss-poorer, and I can appreciate what scarcity of resources really means. It has nothing to do with being green, I just understand how much energy and human ingenuity and effort went into making the stuff that I use every day, and I think it would be terrible to waste all that.

I don't do it because the government wants me to

It's not about want, it's about force. They've forced a choice on me that I'll either use reusable bags, which are actually quite annoying, or fund the very blue-haired fairies responsible for this (and money is time).

I notice you didn't say what you feel a good response is to being forced like this to waste your own time/money. Just go along with it like a good little German Canadian?

Only in Clown World would a utility company want you to use less of their utilities.

Except when they’re state-owned, don’t produce their own, and are slaves to importing energy at rates they can no longer afford from enemy nations. Do your part comrade!

Funny story. An old coupled moved up from California to my neighborhood. One of the things they said in a conversation is that so many people installed solar panels where they lived they started to cut into the power company's bottom line. So what did the power company do? Raise prices.

That's not strictly true - a utility has to size its operation to peak demand, but only gets paid according to the average. It is better for them if those peaks are blunted so they don't have to install extra capacity that will sit idle 95% of the time.

They would heavily use "invading Muslim forces" (North Caucasians etc.).

Russian fighting age recruit pool will be soon totally dominated by the Muslim peoples because only they are having (many) children and also they are the fit ones (no drinking, no drugs, no AIDS, no obesity, but ethnic obsession with fitness and martial culture from fighting sports to guns and generally violence).
