So do you still want to be Chinese?

No freedom this is true but in "communist" regimes you wake up every morning and as long as you don't challenge the government there is nothing to be concerned. Housing, employment, medicare , you name it are all covered by the state.
Whatever your political stance is always there is something you win and something you lose. There is no ideal.
Does China actually do that? People work in big factories producing phones for megacorps. IDK if the gov't provides housing, but I did hear about them tearing it up. (Biased media, to be sure.) I also heard about a housing "bubble" which doesn't sound like central planning. I believe they cover health care. Most countries at that level of wealth do.
To a degree, XI wants to have home pacified before annexing Taiwan so he recently applied several pro-worker reforms. They also said to the rich people that it is time to open a fund and pour money in for the poor or else. Far from ideal but for us living in US debt colonies already sounds a better deal.
